Hi, lovely Waldorf mamas!
I am looking for information on TV and child development. I have Evolution's End and Reclaiming Childhood. Are there any others you can think of that will give me some good information? Is the Plug-In Drug still useful or is it too out of date? TIA!

The Plug-In Drug is very useful. A revised version was released in 2002.

There is also

Remotely Controlled by Aric Sigman

Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television by Jerry Mander

The Big Turn-Off by Ellen Currey-Wilson (more a story than a book of facts)

Last Child in the Woods by Richard Louv (has a chapter on media)

and there are a few others that I can't recall at this time.

You might check out the TV-Free forum for more info

The Plug-In Drug is excellent, not outdated at all. Amusing Ourselves to Death by Neil Postman is, I believe, timeless. It is the first book I read that got me rallied up against television. I read it as an 18-yr-old college freshman and havent looked back since
