tell me about borax

I'd like to know, too. I just bought a box but have no idea how to use it :LOL .

Too harsh, IMO. I know people use it w/success but I wouldn't just b/c I think it's harsh.

I use 20 muleteam Borax for my dipes. My washing routine is this... cold soak overnight wiht about 1/4 c of borax, couple of glugs (how is that for a measurement?! lol) of vinegar, and about 1/4 tide. Then I run that through and do a hot washw/ extra rinse with just detergent and a bit more bit more vinegar, though I don't know if it's really needed. I have been using this method for almost 5 years and even my motherease onesizes that are 5 yrs old, on baby #3, are in excellent shape. none of my dipes have any stains or smells.
