Ok, so I am using wool and fitteds 80% of the time right now. I have 10 fuzzi bunz for each, but I really only use those when we go out or the fitteds are all in the wash. Am I going to want more PUL covers this winter? Will my wool covers work under pants and such? I know that I want some longies for both boys, but I don't think I can afford more than 2 pairs each (if even that). We keep our house fairly cool in the winter, so I am afraid that their legs might get too cold if they are not covered up. But, then I may have withdrawls if I am not looking at their pretty diapers. Maybe I will just need to crank the heat up this winter. :LOL So I guess my question is, what to you do different in the winter than you do during the summer??

In the winter I pretty much use PUL AIOs or pockets exclusively. I only have a couple wool covers that fit well under pants, and I find they get pilly fast when rubbing up against pants all day.
In the summer I use fitteds without covers and a t-shirt. AIOs if I'm going somewhere. And fitteds with wool during naps/overnight.

I still use our wool during the winter. The house is still cold because we usually are still using the A/C because it's so hot and humid outside. :LOL Good ole hot Texas winters.

Anyway, I just use some of our "roomier" pants with wool. We do use our PUL AIOs a lot too. It's kind of a toss up. If I put DS in a loose "romper-type" of outfit, I'll use wool. When I use khaki's or jeans he's in PUL.

Both my boys are major super soakers, and I have yet to find an AIO that will work for us for more than an hour. I really hate the thought of having to use lots of PUL. I have gotten so used to the breathability of wool.

As long as the pants say "100% polyester fleece" on them (no cotton blends) they'll work great! I wouldn't dare use them for a young breastfed baby who still has runny poopy though.
Last year I got fleece pants that worked wonderfully at Old Navy, GAP, and Children's Place, all on clearance for only $2.50 a pair, and put them with turtlenecks or fleece pull overs. It was so easy to just change his diaper and pull his pants on--thats it! Just like an AIO, or dare I say easy as a sposie!

For those of you who are wondering, no the pants themselves don't feel wet when I go to change them. I wash them with Josh's clothes, in Dreft with a little Downy "Free and Sensitive" softener, so they really repell moisture right back into the diaper. Most times if I changed him within 2 hours, the pants felt bone dry, and I put them right back on after changing his diaper. At the end of the day I did put them in the wash though.

Can't wait to use this easy and cheap system next winter! (along with some beautiful wool longies I hope!)

Wow I didn't know that about the fleece pants!! That's so cool. I can't wait to hunt some down at Old Navy.
I am also planning on getting both kids at least 2 pairs of wool longies each maybe more if I can talk my DH into it. I just love the thought of them in a cute pair of longies and a sweatshirt.

I tried the fleece pants on my super light wetter, and they wicked right thru. This year I am finding all the wool sweaters I can at thrift stores, and hopefully I will have enough for about 8 pairs of longies for the winter. So far I only have 3. I want them to be 2 layers thru the crotch (like a 'crat) so they should last all day.
