so it looks like we are going to be moving after new year to NC! Finally we'll get out of GA!! My DH is going for an interview next week, and we think he is gonna get an offer. The company is in Lexington, but we know Winston-Salem is very very close so I wanna keep the options open. Can you please tell me anything about these two cities?
We like LOTS of parks, trees, trails and healthy stores - co-ops - farmer's markets and such ~ are any of these there?
Thank you for ANY info!

I'm sorry! I haven't been back to the "tribe" boards in quite a while.

I live on the opposite side of the county, so I won't be a whole lot of help for that specific area.

Feel free to PM me or email me [email protected]
with any specific questions you may have and I'll do my best to run them down

And welcome to the area!

Sorry!!! We live in Winston-Salem too! It would be great to have another MDC mama here!!! If you want the healthy stores, etc you're definitely gonna need to stay in Winston-and even we don't have TOOO many. I don't think that Lexington has too much of that. PLUS- Winston-Salem is closer to the mountains and trails and stuff.

On the other hand, Lexing ton is BEAUTIFUL, especially if you can afford to buy land to live on.

Please let me know if you have any specific questions, or if you just want to talk....... [email protected]

Hi is going for interview this Friday, but he is meeting them in S. Carolina. We were thinking going up to W-S if they offer him the job, as he think they will.
Lexington is pretty small isn't it? I am not a big fan of big cities, but if we'd live in W-S I would wanna live outside of the city.

The firm he'd be working for is in Lexington.

Lexington has grown up a lot over the past few years. Winston-Salem really isn't THAT big, as most people live on the outskirts. We actually live in a VERY small town right next to Winton-Salem called Pfafftown. The unfortunate part is that all the "healthy" stores, etc are right smack dab in the middle of Winston. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to Whole Foods.

Please let me know if you have any more questions. I would love to help- or if you tell me what you're looking for in a place to live, the size- the location, etc. I can steer you in the right direction- my dad builds here so I know just about everywhere.

Let me know!

Thank you. It DID! They loved him! He is coming home today. And recruiter will be talking to him on Monday. He thinks he has the job. Next step will be driving to Lexington to see the plan and the town.
