I've never tried it on DS, but did get some once for the dog. In fact, I don't think I ever tried it on the dog, either!! But I did stick it in my overnight case for a trip once, and thought that it couldn't hurt if I had trouble sleeping or something. Wow - it totally worked! I have many doubts about homeopathy (sorry, I just do) and thought this stuff was total BS. I don't know if it was a placebo effect or what but it sure knocked me out. I loved it!

I have the spray which is very easy to give, though a friend who has more experience with RR than I do thinks the drops work better. I think she gives it in water. What about putting the RR in one of those medicine spoons or a syringe with with some breastmilk?

I'm assuming you have already tried hyland's teething tabs and homeopahtic chamomile.

Hope your little one gets some relief soon!

I've always used the spray. We just pump a squirt into dd's mouth when she's crying (the only time we use it is when she's so upset that nothing else seems to help). It's amazing stuff... she just stops crying & calms right down.
I think it tastes gross but she actually seems to like it- even asks for "pray" when she sees the bottle

You just rub the drops into their backs???? Hubby bought the drops. I took 1oz of water and put 2 drops in there. Then at bedtime I put 2 drops on his tongue. He's been sleeping for an hour now....but we'll see how the night goes.

yep - they sell it in cream form too but I had already bought the drops - plus I take them.

my ds needs cherry plum and vine & he will drink them if I put a few drops in a bottle of water. he brings the bottles to school / camp and drinks it if he feels stressed or angry or out of control.

but at home if he's having a meltdown I'll rub a little on him and he'll calm down

I personally love the stuff. I just put a dropperful under my tongue to calm myself down. I have a lot of anxiety and it helps instantly. I haven't tried it on the kids yet. The Hyland's teething tabs have always done the trick for them.

I love the stuff, too. Works quite well for parenting issues, ime.
I have lined the whole family up on rare extremely stressful days and put some under my and dh's tongues. But for the kids, I put two drops on each wrist and rub it in. Works wonderfully well.

I could be totally off here (wouldn't be the first time!), but I would think especially the wrists would work because the skin seems pretty thin - the drops would be able to get into the blood stream quickly that way? (Isn't that why it's best under the tongue because it's more easily absorbed?) Ds#3 was having a tough time because his yeasty diaper rash was flaring up and he poopie'd, so I put two drops in his mouth (after changing him), and he drifted quietly to sleep for a nap ... If I could get it into ds#1 when he's throwing a huge tantrum, I think it'd be a life-saver. And imo, the drops work better than the spray, though I do keep the spray in my purse just in case. Oh, and it works great on burns too ... just spray or drop some on a burn and it feels better.

that was the only thing that calmed E while teething.. the hylands tabs did nothing. I never tried any other chamomile thing, though.

I highly recommend it. I use the drops, just put a drop right in her mouth... she doesn't mind the taste, she is 9 mo old too.

I tried it with DD and it worked straightaway, but then I got anxious because of the alcohol content in it (27%)
http://www.drugstore.com/qxp40808_33...ief_liquid.htm

Anyone concerned about that? Or is the idea that it is in such small amounts that it won't hurt the wee one?

I attempted to find the children's version (alcohol free), but no-one in the area carried it. Is everyone just using the adult version?

I think that's why some nursing moms put it on their nipple and let it dry so the alcohol evaporates and some moms put it in some hot water and let it cool off so the alcohol evaporates in the hot water. HTH.
