I posted in the "Digging in the Earth" forum and got no replies.

Does anyone know about growing a soap nut tree? I'm in NW Indiana (think south of the Chicago region) and can't find out if they're compatible with the climate here. I can't seem to find much information on this or where to buy seeds or seedlings.

And does anyone know if you can wash cloth diapers using the soap nuts?

Thanks!!!

I found this right off the bat- http://www.thesoapnutshop.co.nz/

I say go for it!!! One day I want to grow one too!

You can wash dipes with soapnuts and I also wash wool with them.

If you buy a box of soapnuts sometimes you can find a seed in the bottom of the box. The site above sells the seeds too. Or you could check ebay for seeds or seedlings, I found some last year but never bought them.
