I like velour. Its thick and I like that sometimes and sometimes I don't.
Its soft and washes up nice. I like it for a wipe. I want to try the organic velour. Also I had a diaper made out of all velour and it washed up really nice. It looked new after 4 washes.

I love velour! I have very hard water and I have found that my hemp will eventually get stiff, my sherpa becomes like sand paper, but my velour stays soft. I also love that it comes in a ton of colors. Velour that has some poly in the backing seems to be pretty durable as well. Velour seems to be one of those fabrics that people either love or hate.

I like velour but I don't think we have any dipes with it currently. I don't care for it in wipes, generally... I like a 'grippier' fabric like terry for a wipe.
OT from this thread (well maybe not so, depending on the OP intent for the question)
I looove sherpa, terry and hemp (soft side out) wipes for that reason!

I have one velour dipe from Darling Diapers and i LOVE it. I have had it for probably 7or 8 months now and it seriously looks almost brand new. It also seems to be just as absorbant as my other dipes- a little bit bulkier but not terrible. Also, it is the first dipe my husband grabs- he actually asked me when I was going to get some more dipes "like that fuzzy blue one."

I was asking because I have a diaper coming from loveybums that has a velour outer, and I'd heard people complain about velour, but I see so many WAHMs that make diapers with it, so I wanted to get the scoop!

I think it depends on the combo. Right now one of my favorite diapers is velour outer with all micro inner, and a knit terry soaker with micro on top.

I do have several Lukes drawers with velour, and I will always love those!

I just want to chime in and say I love organic velour, and I, like Jamie, find poly blend velour kind of creepy.

I have several dipes (2 elbees and one kiwi pie tester) made of it, and I love how soft organic velour is, how it doesn't feel nearly as wet as other fabrics do, after it's been peed in (slight stay-dry feeling, but not anything like microfleece), and it's just lush and comfy looking. However, there is some extra bulk compared with hemp fleece, for instance.

I have two dipes lined inside with poly/cotton velour and I'm not feelin the love (FMBG and FCB) at all.
I may sell, since it's just not for me and I have a gajillion fitteds that I do love in every way, in it's own way.

I'm getting my new elbee order in her new organic velour, but part of it in hemp fleece, smooth side out, for when I want trim.

I have a peach velour outer (and inner) Little Caboose and it's my favorite and my mom's favorite diaper! It's so soft and just feels plush and cuddly. LOVE IT! It looks brand new and I've had it a couple of months!

Velour used to make my skin crawl. The feel of it just really bugged me. And then after a while I noticed that all of my velour inner diapers were almost completely stain-free and my other inners were holding stains a lot more. So I rethunk (a word?? lol) my velour aversion and for the last 4 or 5 months it's all I use anymore. And it's so soft on my dd and it seems to almost have a "stay dry" property to it similar to microfleece but it's still absorbant.

I
velour!

I find valour to be really good at "grabbing" unless it is soaked in water, then it becomes slick (which is one of the reasons why it hardly ever stains)
I had some valour wipes once and liked them (but swicthed to sherpa because of personal pref)
