Okay, so I just went down to the laundry room to do a load of diapers. I found about 6 assorted diapers in our 2nd pail that I *thought* was empty...they are RIPE! I figure they have been in there for a couple of weeks. There are some prefolds, some Fuzzibuns, and even one of my precious Honeyboys AIO. Egads, am I ever going to get the stink out? A friend suggested oxyclean for at least the HB and the prefolds...but I thought you shouldn't use it on fleece? Or am I getting confused with not using it for PUL?? Baking soda? Vinegar?? What the heck do I soak these rotting things in? I'm hoping it is sunny here tomorrow so at least I can sun some of the stains out, but I am concerned about the fleece retaining the smell.

Suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks

I would not make a habit of using oxiclean on your dipes, PERIOD. Many mommas have had shredded dipes after using it for a while.

If I were you, I would do a LONG cold soak with a lot of baking soda. Fill the washer with a little hot water, put in maybe a cup of baking soda and allow it to dissolve. Then fill the washer with cold water and add dipes. Agitate for a few minutes and soak overnight.

Add about 1ml of tea tree oil to the first rinse. I have had good results removing smells this way.

And, of course the sun will help alot.

Good Luck!
