I'm 14 weeks today and trying to get a measure of where other people's fundus...es... (fundii? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">) are. Mine is behind my bellybutton when I'm lying down or standing. Midwife says, "you sound like you're about a month off on your dates!" I'll be seeing her for the first time on 5/1, but I've had 3 ultrasounds and there's only one baby in there.<br><br>
How far along are you and where is your fundus? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

I am at 14 weeks, and mine is at my belly button. My midwife says this is a normal 20 week measurement, but that since I have twins, it is perfectly normal for me right now. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

I'm 14 weeks (2nd child) and it is about 2 finger-widths below my navel with a full bladder.<br><br>
remember too that we all have different length torsos, the true measurement isn't up or down from the navel, but cms from the pubic bone.

I am 16, going on 17.... weeks, and my fundus is about 2 fingers below my navel; if I wake up with a full bladder, it is at or slightly above my navel, though.<br><br>
jmthompson, that sounds normal to me. There will be a range of normal with this, though, depending on the tilt of your uterus, where you belly button is relative to your pubic bone, how long your torso is, etc.

Well I'm a 1/2 an inch from 6 feet and mine is about 1/3 of the way to my navel with an empty bladder and in the am its is just below my navel.<br>
I am in maternity clothes now but this month is when I usually crank out the tummy <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">.<br>
I am due the 31st with my 3rd <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/luxlove.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="throb">.

I am 15 weeks and mine is maybe a 1/2 inch below my belly button. I have a very short torso though so that makes a difference.

at my 12 week appt, i measured 3 weeks ahead. I will spend the rest of my pregnancy going back and forth, being either right on for dates or as much as 4 weeks ahead. Doesnt seem to have anything to do with fluid levels or baby growth or anything, I just fluctuate a lot and dont ever hardly measure where I am supposed to. I have no idea wht I measure at the moment, probably about right on for dates.

this morning I before I got up (and peed), my fundus was a good one or two fingerwidths <i>above</i> my bellybutton! (still 14 weeks!)

I've lost track of weeks and can't find my wheel - somewhere between 13 and 14 I think. Mine is right near my belly button. I had dh measure, and I'm measuring correct. When I measure myself, I seem to measure large.

How do you measure your fundus? I can feel my uterus when Im laying down, but it seems to be way further down than from what you guys are describing.

You measure from your pelvic bone to the top of your fundus. I put a finger in both spots and have dh measure between them (in cm). I actually thought mine was kind of high. I was surprised that others are near the same point. I don't tend to grow out as much as up if that helps.

But where is my fundus? Is that another word for my uterus?

Your fundus is the very top portion of your uterus. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">
