argh.
:

what a day.

i bring my three month old to work with me, and he would not stop crying this morning. my boss grabbed him and started walking him into the other room, saying, "i'll just walk him for you." Then..."just put him in the bassinet in the other room."

aack.

then they gave me more work than could be done by a single person in a week and said it must be done by four.

hah!

all this while my bosses kid was there and the way she and her husband spoke to him was so sad. I couldn't believe it.
Totally talking down to him, name calling, and making him feel like an unwanted pest.
I've only been there three weeks, and I'm only making eight dollars an hour...but I need the money. What to do?

could your son be starting to teeth (a little early) or going through a growth spurt? Was he vaccinated recently? Perhaps he needs some pain medication - like the gel they put on gums or children's motrin or something?

HI..
I am so sorry to hear that.
Just having to be at work when we as moms worry so much about our little ones hurts so much. The way he treated your baby was unfair. But then again I know when you have to work, you have to.
My son was born with colics... maybe your baby might have felt a little colicky.. it's this non stop crying you can't control and I felt his pain somehow, like a connection. What is great for this is the Mylanta gas releif drops. (not sure if I spelled mylanta right)

I would try to look for other jobs right away. From experience, you have to feel comfortable where you are working because this affects everything. Your mood, how you are at home with your spouse and your baby.

Have you tried wearing your DS in a sling? I didn't bring my ds to work every day (beause I telecommute), but last summer when ds was about 2 - 3 months old I did make it into the office for meetings a couple of times and found if I wore him on my chest in a pouch he would settle in for a nap, or just hang out and look around peacefully. It helped if I attached a small toy to the pouch that he could noodle with, and wore clothes that allowed for discreet breastfeeding (in a cubicle or private office situation -- not in a meeting, LOL).

Not a perfect solution, but maybe it will help you while you look around for alternative employment!!

In the meantime,
BIG HUG to you, and hang in there!

Cary
