I just got an amalgam filling replaced on Tuesday. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/duck.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Duck">:<br><br>
I had no idea that this could be harmful to my daughter who is obviously still nursing at 11 months.<br><br>
I have another appt. in a couple weeks to replace 2 more fillings but I can cancel.<br><br>
What tests do I need? What about DD? And where can I get them done?<br><br>
This is all very new to me. We don't vax, but I never knew about the dangers of the fillings. I still have 6 more, I think. If my Mom had taken me to the dentist for cleanings when I was younger, maybe this wouldn't be an issue. I got all these fillings when I was 18 and on my own. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/Cuss.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="cuss">

Down as much vitamin C to give you the runs *NOW* and continue everyday unless until you can ideally get a vitamin C IV or liposomal version asap. See Momtezuma Tuatara's "Sodium Ascorbate" thread.<br><br>
Blood or urine level testing *today* might show you a jump in Hg, otherwise it's only a few days after exposure. The mercury settles into your body organ and brain after circulating in your bloodstream for a short time. How much the body excretes depends on the power of your detox pathways.<br><br>
You can get hair tests done to show your body load, see "Chelating Mamas" thread, but I imagine this episode will not show up in hair until several months if that is your chief concern. Zeolite/NCD has been talked about as safe while BF'ing but I really cannot say if that is the truth or not.<br><br>
For now, you need superior nutrition to help recover, see Nutrition/Immunology 101 thread in Vaccinations forum. I would do a nutrient dense traditional foods diet (see that forum in Nutrition and Good Eating) including homemade kefir, fermented veggies, bone broths, high vitamin cod liver oil, pastured dairy and meat, etc to give your body the fuel it needs to do the repair work.
