DS's ped has referred us to the Texas Children's Learning Support Center for my son to be evaluated for his speech delays/possible autistic spectrum like behaviors. Any one here have any experience with them?

I have heard only good things. We were considering an eval there (we are in OK, and found one closer) as they use the DIR model at Bridges. I say thumbs up!

Who is your ped? Have you seen a private therapist yet? Have you seen ECI?

I'm in Houston. I don't know everyone, but I know a lot of everyone. Most of the therapists we are seeing right now are saying that TCH is not really doing so swell of a job lately.

mamaverdi, I am in Pearland, and he sees Dr. Talbot with Texas Children's Pediatric Associates. He is 4, so too old for ECI. I would also like to have him evaluated through the school system and see what they say too. My neighbor does OT, and has recommended also that I have him evaluated through a private clinic like hers as she said they could help with sensory and speech issues.

So no one recommended this earlier? When you could get ECI. It's a shame. But it's the Texas way.

We go to PTC which is a private clinic. It is at 59 and Gessner. We were at NTS prior to that and did not have a good experience. 2 of our 3 therapists were good, but the billing staff ended up really messing things up.

You are welcome to PM me, and I can tell you who we see.... Though the therapists choose which clients they work with....Depending on the issues.

We see PT, OT, and SLP (speech).
