Despite meticulous charting, not one but SEVEN burst condoms 10 days before I ovulated resulted in a positive pregnancy test last Friday- I think I'm due on the 17th, which makes me happy: it definitely looks like baby should be turning up in December some time.

So yes. I'm getting happier to be here- I've posted all over the boards declaring my extreme done-ness with being pregnant and having more kids. This is my thirteenth pregnancy, and I have four gorgeous children at home, who know nothing whatsoever about this, and Rowan, who was stillborn at 24 weeks, all homebirthed. We're in the process of buying our first house, and it does feel nice knowing that there'll be a birth there too

Nice to meet you all!

Thankyou! I'm slightly shellshocked, tbh. More than slightly.

I just realised, you're on your fifth too!

Yes, Ma'am I am!
This one was planned and it planned to be our last.
I am totally shocked that it happened on the first month of being off bc, though! That was really unexpected. I'm sure you just need some time to adjust to the idea of another lil one.
I bet your other kiddos are going to be thrilled. My 5 year old DS is sooooo excited! He wants to cut the baby's cord and everything.

Ah- erm, we tried that with my DS1 and DD (he was seven years and two days.) His hands weren't strong enough, so he needed a bit of help...

Holy crap! Glad to see you here too. I saw your post on my thread and clicked your name to trak down your posts.

Funny, I was so dead set agaisnt anymore as well. Heck. Dh has scheduled twice (and skipped for a variety of reasons) for a vas. consult. This last one, funny enough, would have been too late anyhow.

Congrats!

You may want to look into a new brand after your LO arrives.
(Then again, I shouldn't keep my Depo shot in my purse anymore...

the op made me laugh. This is our 4th, and we weren't planning this pregnancy at all... I was even thinking of giving away/selling the cloth diapers.

Good thing I didn't!

I'm excited, but kind of freaked out. Is number 4 easy? Easier then three? I guess it is all a blur...

Wow, that's a lot of condoms!
Talk about being "meant to be", eh? Anyway, CONGRATS!!! It's so cool to see familiar faces here!

Has anyone else noticed that there seem to be a LOT of surprise babies in this ddc? Happy surprises, but surprises nonetheless!

I found three the hardest, but my fourth baby is so very easygoing. He has his quirks -- he wouldn't sleep by himself during the daytime for at least the first six months, he had to be in arms, for instance -- but overall he's easy to please. I think it has to do with the fact that he has three older siblings to play with all the time. When my oldest was a toddler, he was so very needy; following me around and always getting in to whatever I was doing. Which is totally normal, especially since I was the only other person around. But #4 has so many other interesting people to interact with, so it doesn't feel quite so intense for me.

River does things his own way- he's a nightmare as far as sleep is concerned, but otherwise very happy and easygoing. My third was superglue baby- but each of mine are a bit of a handful in their own unique way.
It's nice to see so many familiar faces here

I love your siggy btw.
This will be our third but 4th total for DH. We both come from larger families (DH is 1 of 10 and I'm 1 of 8) but my side tends to be a bit....well, if you ask my dad why there are so many of us it was because he "doesn't like condoms but sure likes sex". I'm just waiting for his comments to start.

thank you Brisen and Helen for your reassurances about number four. Three was a logistical challenge--I was afraid to go into stores when she was tiny, and just felt out numbered.

Now they're all good--she is a pretty easy going girly... in fact one only one I worry about the most is my oldest...

But, this should be fun once I stop feeling like I am going to either 1) fall asleep at any moment or 2) barf.
