So usually I'm complaining about the personal, bizarre or uneducated question that most people ask a pregnant lady.

Today the very nice lady in the fabric department at Walmart Asked: "where are you having your baby"? nobody asks that I was thrilled to answer "at home" to which she replied good isn't that where they should be born and explained how she, her sibs, and all of her and sibs kids were all born at home!

I actually got asked that question a lot for some reason. I grew thick skin pretty quickly since people asked it so frequently. In the end, I found more people were curious about homebirth rather than judgmental. In fact, the nurses at my hypertension specialist's office turned out to be huge cheerleaders for me (and my worse experiences were usually with medical professionals since homebirth midwives can't really practice legally here in Georgia). They were begging me to bring them photos from our homebirth. Now that I've had my beautiful homebirth, it's even more pleasurable when people ask where he was born. I'm not going to lie - there is a small feeling of pride knowing we followed through with our homebirth plans despite all the naysayers. My Little One and I worked together to make it happen, and that makes me a proud mama! I'm glad you answered with pride also!

I was kind of excited to be asked this question recently as well...but all I got was stony silence when I happily said, "At home!". Turns out that the couple asking work at my local hospital and thought I'd be birthing there.

Very, very cool that you had a different experience! Seems very rare to randomly meet someone like that who is like-minded!
