Another reason BP wants the shut down is to pressure AK congress to pass the bills related to the gas pipeline. The way the info currently reads, we (Alaska residents) sign over our $$ from the gas pipeline to the oil companies for YEARS. If the legisilature takes more time and rewrites the stuff, the oil companies get less money from the gasline. So hurry, hurry, hurry....sign that stuff now! (We'll just keep the pipeline shut down til you do.....)
