I know this has been asked before (I did a search) but the thread only got 2 answers so I'm hoping for more.

Can the Diva be used for lochia? I know I read somewhere that it can but 1. I don't remember where and 2. everyone has something different to say about it.

I'm 12 days and at a point where pads are silly but I do still need them as there is still a light flow. I didn't have any tearing or bruising or anything like that and things are back to normal (based off feeling things and what not). I have no problem with the idea of inserting it so thatsa non-issue.

I know "they" say you shouldn't insert anything until 6 weeks but that seems a bit overdone....you know pick a number and add a buffer zone to protect those who would do something stupid and then try to sue someone kind of overdone.

I know there is a risk of infection but I know everything is clean and the "cooties" that are there are mine so I'm tolerant to them now anyhow yk? (Not saying that infection is a moot point nor am I making light of it....just saying I don't feel it's a risk to me at this point.)

at this point, if it feels ok for you to use it, go for it! some women have sex at 3 days postpartum....I think the risk of infection is super slim. Now if we were talking about tampons...ack!

That's what I thought. Do you by chance know what the infection risk rate is per week? I mean 6 weeks is a long time! There has to be some sort of % per week if its that long of a standard recommendation yk?

BTW I totally love your blog. I read something from it to my sister almost every time you post.

The only thing I would be worried about is the suction causing issues. I know my mooncup can cause wicked suction after wearing it a while and I would be afraid of encouraging proplapse or something till things are healed better and the cervix fully closed.

I don't know of a risk of infection week by week, but something tells me it has more to do with the general health of the person more than anything. but that's just my opinion!

thanks for the comments on my blog. i try my best to stir up things!
