Does anyone want to join me on discussing this book, techniques, etc?

I am using the CPS model on my 4 year old and it takes some tweaking to get it to work for him. I can tell this is going to be a looooonnnngggg road but I need to start somewhere

Anyone wanna join me?

(Missinformation~ you're my inspiration! Thanks for sharing your wisdom and your blog...I love your problem solving binder!)

I would love to but I need to actually read this book.
Greene has a new book that I've just gotten from the library. I'll let you know how it is. I read Explosive Child a couple of years ago and don't fully recall exact process, although I think I integrated some of the ideas and thoughts in my general parenting of two children with hair-trigger temperaments and sensory issues.

Hi!
I'd like to join you. Because of that previous thread that you mention, I checked out the book and have begun trying the technique with my 9 yo ds. We've had some success but I can see, too, that it's going to take some learning for both of us and I've got questions for other mamas myself.
A pathway I've identified for my ds is language processing. He really struggles with putting what he's feeling into words. Often when I try empathy with him he has a lot of trouble articulating his concern and he gets frustrated with me when I try to help him with that to keep the ball rolling so to speak. I'm not really sure where to go with that.

I hear you! Boo has multiple pathway problems. He also has a hard time accepting empathy from me. The one thing I am noticing is that this type of parenting is going to be a huge commitment. I'm so used to taking it one moment at a time and waiting for the next explosive episode. I'm working on being more proactive in doing Plan B instead of relying on emergency plan B.

Bump. I'm in, but I'm having a hard time makingthis work with my very, very young 3 1/2 year old.

Boo is 4 (he'll be five in Feb). I'm having a hard time adapting it to his developmental age.
Maybe we can share scenarios and then offer advice on how to handle it?

I think it's going to take a loooooonnnngggggg time and a lot of practice for it to work but in the end, it will all be worth it

Yes yes! MT will be 4 at the end of May next year. His dev is staggered so in some ways he's all of 3 1/2 and in others he's just 3 or less. Let's agree to talk about this. Gotta run for the moment though.
