Has anyone heard of this? Good? Bad?<br><br>

I tried it for a while but didn't like it because it was only for 1 or 2 stores in my area, neither of which I like very much, and when I did go my store didn't match up with the sales the GG listed (someone told me I could have done something about that but it wasn't worth the extra effort for me). I do have a few friends who do it and love it, though! But for me, I'm back to regular coupon clipping and ad matching...works fine for me. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

I've been a member for almost two years. Works great for me. I only get two stores, Walgreens I do on my own, it used to be a free list but it's now a pay one.<br><br>
The worse thing about it is I feel guilty when I don't have to shop for a week. Just getting depressed about the "great deals" I'm missing. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br>

Her take on it: It's GREAT for health and beauty aids. She has buhzillions of body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, tampons, etc.<br><br>
It's ok for groceries. You very occasionally get a green food item, and a few blue ones.<br><br>
There isn't any in my area so I don't do it, but I love helping my mom w/ hers. She says her biggest savings come from CVS.<br><br>

I tried it before in Idaho but there was only one store and I never shopped there...there are 2 stores here for the GG, but I rarely shop at them. So far, nothing has been listed that we eat regularly enough to make the trip away from my normal store. I won't be renewing after the trial period ends.

I tried it and for us it just really wasn't worth it. You need to really store up your coupons and get a paper every week, something we had a hard time remembering to do.<br><br><br>
Lots of the great deals were stuff we just didn't use, and like someone else said there were a few times things didn't line up. None of our drugstores participated, only the grocery stores.

I do it and like it. I use it mostly for h&b and then canned stuff like beans and tomatoes and freezer veggies, etc. I buy org. meat, dairy, and produce, but even then it does let me know the best deals. I think it works the best if you are in an area with lots of stores. I have 4 groceries and 2 drug stores I could choose from. I just do one grocery ( the one that lets me use unlimited coupons) and CVS. CVS is unbelievable. If you only use natural h&b it would not work.

GG is nice as its set up to be easily read BUT I find it expensive. also at some people mentioned their sales and such didn't match the store....thats because GG only updates on sundays at my grocery stores their ads come out on wed. so the gg only had valid info sun, mon and tues. if you don't want to spend the money go to <a href="http://www.couponmom.com" target="_blank">www.couponmom.com</a> its FREE and matches the coupons to sales items. theres no "color coding" but she shows a percentage that your saving with the coupon/sale. theres CVS, walgreens (national) and then grocery stores by state. also <a href="http://www.fishingfordeals.com" target="_blank">www.fishingfordeals.com</a> has a coupon forum (you must register FREE!) and we discuss cvs (mostly) couponing and such. HTH!!<br><br>
if you want to order coupons there are several sites, i also have the name of a woman who sells WHOLE inserts (30 inserts for $11 shipped).<br><br>
for cvs by far is the best to stock up on household items. you will very rarely get coupons and the like for organic or quality foods though. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> i was couponing and saving a ton but realized that we were eating junk. the best coupon i ever found was for whole grain pasta and thats about it.

I love it! The first few weeks, I ended up getting more things than I normally would, because they were *such* good deals. But now I have calmed down and am being smart about it. As others have said, it's GREAT for health and beauty items. I am totally stocked up on conditioners, deodorants, razors, and toothpaste. AND the other day I got an 8-pack of Extra gum for -0.01. My prescription was supposed to be $10 at Walgreens, and I paid $9.99 b/c the coupon took a penny off. Can't beat that!<br><br>
So, I think it's worth it. Especially now that I have a system down for clipping and organizing coupons. There is a definite learning curve.
