Just thought I would post a quick update and see if there are other mamas in the same boat this month.

I was 36 weeks last Saturday, so am quickly approaching 37 weeks . I am just so grateful to have had such an uneventful pregnancy and to still be pregnant. My body is reaching her limit for sure . . .everything exhausts me and lots of parts are sore, but I'm still living life fairly normally and have not had to do the bedrest thing, so lots to be thankful for.

I'm feeling ambivilent about the timing of their arrival. On one hand, I'd love for them to come this weekend so I can be done being pregnant, but on the other hand I am a bit freaked out about what life will be like once they are here. In the end I want them to come whenever they feel it is best to come, but ykwim I'm sure.

My goal all along has been 38 weeks, and that is coming up fast. Some minutes/hours/days, though, it feels like a million miles away

As far as I know, both boys are head down still so I am hopeful that I'll get my VBAC

Anyway, thanks so far for all of your help and support! This pg has been so much easier because I knew I had this forum to go to.

That's wonderful news! And as a mama newly pregnant with twins, it makes me happy to hear such a positive story. Everyone keeps telling me how awful it will be, LOL! Congrats to you-- may your birth be peaceful!

Oh, so many memories. My twins will be two 2 weeks from Friday.

Congratulations on making it to term! 38 weeks was my goal too and I gave birth at 38 weeks 5 days. I am sending you plenty of peaceful laboring vibes.

I am right there with you! I was 36 weeks on Sunday.
I have said all along that I will go to 39 weeks and it looks like it might happen. I had my final growth check ultrasound today along with a pretty gentle, but still ouchy, vaginal check. The midwife thought I was maybe 1-2 cm dilated, but not more, and he didn't actually put his finger up there, just kind of felt the edge.
So I am starting to worry now that I am going to go sailing right up to 40 weeks and end up needing some inducing. But I know I've got lots of time before that happens.
I have also had a very uneventful pregnancy. I am DEFINITELY not comfortable ever, anymore. In fact, if I wasn't pregnant I would be sure I was dying, but it is all manageable stuff. And I am so grateful to still have these little ones inside me, growing away.
Attached2mason, I will be looking out for your posts. Keep us updated! It is nice to know there is someone the same amount pregnant as me, and probably going through a lot of the same pains and emotions. Do you know the sexes of your babies? We don't, and I am starting to get excited to find out. For some reason my husband and I are both convinced they are a boy and a girl, so we will be a bit shocked if it is some other combo. But it won't really matter for names, because we still have no ideas!!! That is starting to get a bit worrisome.

I hope all goes well for you! I am about 6 wks behind you. I am still doing really well, uneventful pg too. While I am not quite at the I want to be done being pg stage, I totally understand the feeling of keeping babies inside longer because of the upheaval that will ensue once they are earthside. Best wishes!

How terrific to be at 37 weeks with no problems! Love it
I'm 31 weeks with boys also and another son who will be their big brother.
Soon we will both have three boys! So far my pregnancy has been a breeze and I feel very blessed. Please keep posting through your final weeks if you are able.
Congrats on making it so far! I would vote to keep 'em in as long as possible. Even though I carried until 37 weeks 5 days, ds still was not ready to be born. We had a short nicu stay and it took over a month for him to nurse effectively. The closer you can get to 40, the better. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone . It's amazing how fast my emotions swing from gratitude to misery several times a day . Had a mini breakdown yesterday because I felt a bit trapped/overwhelmed at what lay ahead i.e. who knows how many more days of twin pregnancy and then a boatload of work after that (first to get them into the world and then to care for them once they are here). Sometimes it feels terrifying.

Tanana - when you said "if I wasn't pg I would be sure I was dying" I just about spit out my tea, hilarious . I feel the same way. As you say, it is manageable, but when people ask how I'm feeling I'm not even really sure how to respond.

I would not be remotely surprised if I went to 40 weeks but am honestly hoping they are ready a fair bit before then. I am now realizing how much the 'twins come early' comments and mentality has seeped in. If I were pg with a singleton I'd still have it in my head that I had a few weeks left, but b/c it is twins I'm thinking 'any day now'. Suggestion truly is a powerful thing it seems.
