The kicking...

Does anyone else have a colon kicker? This baby keeps kicking me in the bum. He does kick me other places, but the butt kicking is just a weird sensation.

Is there any way to coerce him to move into another position when he's doing this? Probably not LOL

If its repetitive, are you sure its not hiccups?
I remember with my son, I kept thinking he was kicking me again and again way down low but it felt funny and finally it dawned on me that the little guy was hiccuping.

My little pixie is currently giving me kicks in the side which leads me to think she is wedged sideways. She definitely doesn't hiccup as much as her brother did.

I've gotten a couple of those butt kicks. It is a very weird sensation.

Does anyone get high and low kicks simultaneouly? Or just kicks/punches at the same time that are really far apart? Sometimes it feels like those full body jolts you get just as you're falling asleep.
I get them at my ribs and hip at the same time, makes me wonder how baby girl is contorted in there LOL

but I do get butt kicks sometimes too and they are SO uncomfortable, but sometimes it hurts when she kicks other places too LOL
Oh my gosh- it is the worst pain I've gotten in a kick so far!!! It seems like beany loves kicking good and hard down there too.... no mistaking those for punches or hiccups. Getting kicked square in the belly button is a close second, but at least when that happens I can have DH talk against my stomach to divert the little one to move.... there's no way DH is going to be able to project his voice to my intestines.

Don't underestimate your husband

The belly button kicks for me are so odd. The ones that hurt the worst, though, are the kicks to the bladder. Just flat out kicking and then me running to get to a bathroom on time.

yep the worst is when you don't make it to the bathroom LOL
LOL well I'm glad I'm not alone. Yeah sometimes he kicks off to the side down low and that hurts. He also has kicked me pretty high up, but not my ribs yet.

He's still sort of quiet some days. I feel him move and kick every day but it's not all day or anything. Some of the kicks I do feel are really strong and I can feel them externally with a hand. So I think he's just laid back or something. It also depends on what I've eaten.

I don't think they're hiccups, although I'm not sure I've felt those. They aren't at regular intervals, it's just that sometimes he'll kick or punch there like 10 times. It's mostly when I've been sitting with my computer for a while. I think he wants me to go do something. Hehe.
lol, i'm always wondering how LO is wedged in there. it seems sometimes like he's sideways. it's so crazy! i wish my stomach came equipped with a window so i could see what was going on.
Ha! I get all kinds of intestinal kicks. It's a weird sensation for sure.
Yup, lots of kicks always down low. The painful ones for me are usually front and center (cervix?). Last night I had to lie awake in bed for what felt like eternity until the hiccups stopped. And I too wonder how he manages to bang around into my ribs on the right and my colon on the left simultaneously.
my LO is head-down but every so often will do something with a hand or his/her head that results in the WEIRDEST sensations down there. i will literally jump! wren had her hands in her mouth basically from the time she turned head-down on (and came out that way) so i didn't feel much down low, but this one is definitely moving hands more often.

i definitely also find the little rolling foot across my ribs super strange...it just feels so...rolly? i remember thinking this with my daughter too. i can't even envision what they are doing that makes their feet feel like the wheel of an office chair rolling across my belly!
Yes, little rolly heels and knees are strange. This one must be long like DS was because s/he does the same painful streeeeeetch where I feel butt pushing and the feet pushing opposite. You're not going to make any bigger by doing that, kiddo.

wren used to do this ALLLLLL the time. she was long too! but yeah, sometimes i felt like she was trying to escape via my side! this one is decidedly more mellow (and feels smaller somehow, but it's still early). wren moved so much that in last two months my students would admit sometimes they'd get distracted by my belly bustling about. she always seemed so BUSY in there!

she insists she remembers being in my tummy and also insists that she spent most of her time "dancing."

Oh my gosh! No colon kicks... yet. That sounds painful. I'm getting lots and lots of cervix kicks, though. They startle me every time. And sometimes it's like he's doing the clean-and-jerk in there, or something -- bump-bump-BANG! It makes me a little nauseated, to tell the truth.
Robina,
That is so cool! I've read a little about prenatal memory. I would believe her.

As an olympic lifter myself, I LOVE that. The clean and jerk
I hope my little guy is doing that, too
