I went shopping with my mom and sister yesterday and my mom fell and broke her hip.
We spent a while with her laying on the floor and me sitting next to her nursing Becca as we waited for the ambulance to arrive. She was trying to hold her arm under her head so I gave her my Happy Tushies diaper bag stuffed with fluffy diapers and she used it as a pillow. The store offered to get her a *real pillow but she said that she was fine and this was really soft. Nothing like cotton, hemp and wool to stuff a pillow.

Then we were walking around emergency after my mom was asleep and one of the nurses commented on B's cool shorts (Mosaic moon soaker). She asked if Grandma made them. I told her that I actually bought them online and that we use cloth diapers and this was her cover. She was so excited that we use cloth and said she tries to talk people into it all the time. When she came in to put a catheter into mom she asked if I had always used cloth. I told her our story and showed her a couple of cute dipes in my bag. She was very impressed. She talked about what a huge $ saver cloth is and that when I retire in Antigua I can tell people that it is because I used cloth diapers and breastfed. :LOL

As for mom, she had surgery this morning and is doing OK. I will be heading out to the hospital soon. Anyone in the Toledo area? We are from MI but went to a store in OH yesterday.

Oh, my goodness.
I hope your Mom recovers well. I'm glad the cloth diapers were there to make things easier for her.

Retire to Antigua! Yeah, maybe, but not with all the cute wool around right now... oh, and maybe a new diaper garden soon.

Oceanone, I am trying to be so good and just spend what I have in PP for my new wool. I have about $45 right now with hopefully $30 more to come. Of course, last week I spent $84 that I did not have to get my MMs.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom

Good that you had plenty of comfy diapers on hand to ease her poor head, to keep your dd happy and clean, and give you and the nurse an interesting topic of discussion during your (unfortunately) very long day. You deserve a Girl Scout award for preparedness.
