I posted a thread yesterday saying my 13 mo old dd had welts on her face. She woke up in the night with a fever of 101.7 and was vomiting. Eventually the fever went down (after Tylenol) and she nursed and went back to sleep. She's still sleeping this morning. I think those welts may have been part of some strange virus. But I'm not sure....

my son had a virus a few weeks ago that was characterized by first a fever and then a rash after the fever is gone, which comes and goes for a few days..... i called the pediatrician and told them about it and they just confirmed that they had seen a lot of kids with it and it was just a virus..... btw my son also vomited once when he first got the fever... and the rash was a little welty and on his face and torso... then would come and go on his legs and arms.. he also got some terrible stomach cramps and kids at his daycare had the rash with some diarrhea..

Yes, I called the ped this morning and he said the same thing - a virus is going around just like you described. She happily seems fine this morning, but I will keep an eye on her.
