<p>I made it through the last dilemma.  To find out sex or not.  We found out- baby boy REALLY wanted to show off those family jewels.  Now we are stuck on names!!!  Anyone else haviing naming difficulty? </p>

<p>Originally we liked Jacob but I know several people naming their baby Jake/Jacob right now plus there are a multitude of them in dd's classes!! </p>
<p> </p>
<p>We also liked Lucas/Luke. But now I'm just not sure if that clicks with our family. (Josie, Sada, Luke...idk)  Plus I found out last night that is my good friends "boy name" (now, she isn't pregnant and if she were to get pregnant who knows if she would have a boy, they have 2 girls as well, but still...) I also like Nathaniel/Nate but we also have a good friend with a Nate.  UGH!!  Boy names are HARD!!  We have a middle name (family name, Spencer) I've combed through the websites.  dh likes classic names, but we want something not too common- that is a hard combination! girl names are SO much easier - And I just love my girls names- I want my boy to have a name that I love, too!</p>

<p>I know a lot of people don't like to share names until after baby is born but is anyone else having difficulty with names?  Do you have any favorite name websites you use??  (I've been on nameberry quite a bit) help me, friends!! <span><img alt="confused.gif" src="http://files.mothering.com/images/smilies/confused.gif" style="width:16px;height:21px;"></span></p>

<p>We still have a couple weeks before we find out the sex so we aren't going to start the name fight yet.  If we have a boy, it will almost definitely be Jack, but if it's a girl we have to start from scratch.</p>

<p>I do have to point out that Luke Spencer is the name of one of the most well-known soap opera characters from General Hospital.    Back in the Luke and Laura days... Yeah, I used to watch.  <span><img alt="redface.gif" src="http://files.mothering.com/images/smilies/redface.gif"></span></p>

<p>I found out the gender too because my boy kept flashing me! DH still doesn't know, but it's getting to be a hard secret to keep!</p>

<p>I don't LOVE any of them though. I think girl names are more fun, and DH is convinced we're having another girl so wants to stop looking at boy names. Our DD's name is super girly, so I'm wondering if our boy name has to be very masculine as a balance. It's tough!</p>

<p>We ran into the same issue with Cecilia and Carl... I really wanted Carl to have an 'easy' name after dd and her very old-fashioned, many syllables name.</p>

<p>Now I want another 'easy/short' boy name for this baby. We like Elliott, but I want another short name. For a girl, also. And not old fashioned!!!</p>

It lets you enter other names you like (boy or girl,) and it gives you naming suggestions based on the name you already like. DH and I are having the naming dilemma, too. We aren't finding out the gender, but DH is so convinced that it is a boy, he won't even discuss girl names. Our first DS didn't have a name for nearly 2 weeks after he was born. I hoing that doesn't happen with this one, but it might.</p>

<p>DH's middle name is also Spencer (as is his fathers, and grandfathers, etc) and DH does NOT want it as a first name.  Just doesn't love it as a 1st name, I guess.  I really like both Julian and Rhys but my uber-picky husband does not.   I think we might also be in the boat of having an unnamed infant!!</p>

<p>Should I back off Luke knowing that it is my bff's boy name?  I mean I'm not sure I love it (for this baby) but we like it.  She said obviously its fair game since she isn't planning on another right now (but they are soon)- but just knowing that it is would it be the nice thing to do to not use it? </p>

<p>Dp and I have been having a hard time coming up with boy names.  His son's name is Aidan, which is my #1 boy name, so that's out (but at least I got an Aidan!).  I love both my girl's names (Lily and Aurora) but don't really like a lot of boy names.  There's a lot of girl names I totally love so I've decided to focus on finding a boy name since I know it will be really easy to come up with a girl's name. </p>

<p>My top choices for boy names so far are Fynn or Holden.  I love the sound of Holden, but I don't love naming my child after a literary character who was kind of a pain in the ass and committed suicide.  Is that silly?  I also like Eli.</p>

<p>For girls I love Avery, but that's one of at least ten girl names I could easily use.  I am hoping to use Eleanor for the middle name, after my much loved god mother . </p>

<p>I tend to like Irish/ Gaelic names and Jewish/ biblical names. </p>
