I just have to vent - I thought I had found the perfect nanny - she is awesome in so many ways, really nice and caring, great experience, flexible with her hours, (we have odd hour requirements which is hard to find) and just generally seemed great.

Until we got to the part about parenting styles. I told her we practice AP. She said she "doesn't believe in AP", and is a "hard core believer in Ferber". She said holding a child while they fall asleep before putting them down is "ridiculous" and she "just won't do it". She apparently quit her last job b/c the parents expected her to hold the girl until she fell asleep and then put her in the crib

So she said if she can't get our son to nap by Ferber method, she doesn't want to work for us!

At least she is honest!!

So dissapointed, but we had to say SEE YA!

TRUE. It's a bummer, but much better to find out right from the beginning then later on!
