First OB appointment today. It was pretty basic; they took blood pressure, did a PAP smear and the whole nine yards, then sent me for my dating ultrasound since we were just guessing at due date and they wanted a more definitive answer. And the result?

Twins.

Oh my God. I'm still in shock. I have no idea how we're going to handle this...of course, I know it'll be fine in the end, but wow. Just...wow. DP said we should have played the lottery. LOL

Ahhhhh!!!!! Congratulations!!
That's crazy. I think I'd have a good cry, right there on the table! Twins are exciting, but overwhelming just to think about. Fun too, though.
Congratulations!

Thank you! I almost did cry. I just kept asking the poor tech "Are you sure? This has got to be some kind of joke!" LOL. And then just started laughing, cuz really, what else can you do?

Oh man, how exciting! Congrats, mama!

Part of the reason I'm so nervous about my u/s is the chance for twins...we have TONS of multiples (twins AND triplets!) in my family, and everyone's been joking about two (since this pregnancy was such a surprise in the first place!) But I guess my chances are dwindling with each new twin mama (statistically speaking, anyway) which is FINE BY ME!!

I have been thinking of getting a US just to make sure it's NOT twins, because of the epidemic of twins here! LOL!!!

I haven't really had a lot of symptoms, at least, not out of the ordinary or excessive, and I've gained about 4 lbs in the first 7 weeks, so I don't really think I'd be having twins, but I'd be in SUCH shock if I were!

Congrats on your double blessing!!!!

Yay! More twins!

I asked my ultrasound tech, and she said she doesn't know why, but in her experience twins seem to come in waves and there are LOTS of twins coming to our town next December. Weird, eh?

Congratulations!!! I had an u/s today and I was sorta expecting two because of my symptoms being so bad this time and my #s being high, and everyone teasing be about it because they run in my family, but it was just one. This DDC is scary!!

How exciting though!!

Thank you! As far as symptoms go, they've been much milder than with both of my singleton pregnancies, believe it or not. And I haven't gained any weight at all. No history of twins on either side of the family, so to say this was unexpected is the understatement of the year!

Ya know, all this twin stuff has me refusing to count on their only being 1 in here until I get a later ultrasound. Yes, I definitely have just 1 sac, but I'm not trusting that that blobby being is just one until I have an official extremity count!
