My Ginger Root Beer water kefir is almost to go. It's just going crazy though. The grains are flying up and down in the jar. Is it from the carbonation? Yay!!! It could be from both carbonation and from growing really fast. The grains LOVE ginger. When they grow fast they trap little bubbles making them float. When the bubbles burst they then float to the bottom. The carbonation can make them float too.<br><br>
It makes me happy to see they are doing so well!!

Holy crap that's cool! I've never had water kefir, only milk kefir, and it never sounded appealing. But oddly enough, watching it be all alive like that totally makes me want to try some! BTW if the visuals entertain you, you can do the same trick with a can of ginger ale and some raisins <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"> My neighbour's kids discovered this and it was ALL they wanted to do for about a week.

Okay, your video inspired me to get in the kitchen and chop up some ginger. That's my favorite way to do water kefir but I'm just too lazy to do it very often. That, and my grains seem to think they're bunny rabbits. No more sucanat for a while, I can't keep up with them and before I know it there's so many in there that I'm making beer in a day <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">
