2 women came over to evaluate Katie for her developmental delays. Both 40+. I put Katie in her american flag soaker shorts from cushie tushie. THEY LOVED IT! The "younger" one kept coming back to them. I showed off some stuff & discussed the improvements since they diapered. She had used cloth too. She was impressed. She asked for business cards too. So freaking cool!

That's great!!! Last night at my dd's Winter Concert I showed a few of my friends Mallory's cloth diaper and they didn't really even bat an eye of the diaper itself...they just seemed to focus on the fact that I would be handling and re-using poopy diapers.

She is doing better on her gross & fine motor skills. We have worked with her at home & helped her catch up almost all the way. But her language skills need help. This is all free too. It is through the school system, an early intervention type thing. She can say a lot of words by individually & 2 at a time. But when she gets to 3 word+ sentences, the last word is the only really understandable thing. It has to do with the lack of muscle tone in her mouth & tongue probably. So if we can get her in the program it will help her qualify for headstart or other programs.

That's so awesome they liked her diapers!

My DS Ross is in speech therapy right now and his problem is much the same as your DD's. He was saying no intelligble words 4 months ago and now he is saying 2 words together and fairly clear. He was diagnosed as having severe expressive language delay and they told me his mouth was simply not strong enough to form the shapes to say the words. Which explained why we had sooo much trouble bf'ing. Anyway, his therapy is not totally free (insurance covers most), but his preschool will be and then he'll get therapy 5 days a week. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!
And good luck to your DD!!
