Am in awe. The Great State of California is really ... nuts.

Although will publicly admit that for the sheer entertainment value of the thing, part of me wanted him to win. Just because it would be so mind-bogglingly weird and surreal and quintessentially California that it would be ... humorous.

Well, now that it's happened ... or predicted to be happening ... scarily hysterical seems to be a more apt description ...

Anyway, all you California mamas, life in LaLaLand is about to be more ... I don't know what, but definitely more. Lots more.

Good luck to you ...

Nuts. Just nuts.

This coming from someone in Minnesota who voted for Jesse Ventura. But at least he had some governmental experience. (I do regret it, yes)

I guess I'll have to reconsider my dream of moving to San Francisco (at least for a few years)

Ugh. I know why it can seem amusing to people who dont live here, but it is so upsetting to some of us who do. Sorry if this comes off mean, I really dont mean it to. I am just so amazed at the insanity of some californians. Its disgusting.

Sorry is one word that comes to my mind. I think that this election has brought out alot of people who never voted before. Reason being is because a Movie Star was running and all his fans voted. Thats how I think he won.

hmmm how do I always end up living in places that people think are "lala" or nuts?? Of course, maybe since I lived in CA for over 30 years I'm just used to it. Whatever.

I think it's a bit premature to be making predictions, since it's been about 90 minutes that they have officially been able to count votes.

Yes, to some of us Californians it is a very sad time
Talk radio down here had a lot to do with this. Also, people got on the bandwagon that Davis was so horribe, that they wanted to vote for someone who would win. At least thats my parents excuse! Davis might had done wrong, but the Arnoldator!?! I am thankful I don't have cable, because I am

I'm bummed, but as a San Franciscan can still feel that we are somewhat sane
Looks like about 70% of San Franciscans voted against the recall. I sure did. Can't see how peole could vote for arnold - a very shallow vote in my opinion.

Heidismom- Yes I have heard about this secret "unknown" meeting with Ken Lay in 2001! It is hard to like this guy when he was dealing with a person who our state has litagation against. Thanks for the link!

10:05 pm California time, and Gray Davis has ceded the race.

Yes! We ARE the laughing stock of the nation!!

That's sarcasm, by the way.

I'm not a big Davis fan. In fact he disappointed me. And Bustamante is no real choice. But Arnold?? Da Terminaytohr??

Sorry, this is worse than what happened to Minnesota. At least Ventura seemingly had some ideology driving him, and some real guts that made it possible for him to step out on his own, be independant, not just a nutty, muscle-bound puppet.

The political analyst on tv was making some connections between Schwarzenegger and Reagan (not!), saying he plans to deligate and act like a CEO of a company like Reagan did when he was gov of California, and let his board of directors do a lot of the work (that wasn't how he said it. I'm tired.) Well, God, I hope so. Please, don't let Arnold be making any real decisions.

oh my lord, I have had my head buried so deeply in remodeling this house and getting settled in that I....

I....

I....

well the last I heard was that they decided not to do the recall or whatever after all. Like, airhead!

Well I don't live in Ca anymore anyway. You know, I was in Orange County, Disney Republican central, and frankly, those people would vote for Arnold just to get him to their fundraisers.

The mentality of this nation does concern me, but then I didn't even know this was going on, so who am I to say anything.

oh and amy, the state of california is nuts and granolas. It's just that there are more nuts than granolas now and the nuts are even infiltrating the granola. New Cali Style Granola! Extra nutty crunch!

I guess you got out just in time, pie! (miss you.)

yikes.

Anyway, did anyone hear about Orrin Hatch introducing a constitutional amendment to allow people who have been naturalized citizens for 20 years to run for president? (Right now one must be born in the U.S.)

I just wanted to add to the general party spirit.

Zip -a- dee- do -dah.

Oh man, now I *really* want to move out of state.
Does anyone else think it's wierd that we voted for or against the recall on the same ballet that we voted for which candidate one?
Like shouldn't we have decided if those people were actually running or not before voting for them??

hmmm...hadn't really looked at it that way, but that's true. Of course, I guess its better than spending all that money to hold another vote separately. Then again, if it was a separate vote, would people have voted the same? I don't know, I still can't get past the fact that we just spent 70 million bucks or whatever to oust a guy primarily for managing the budget poorly. um, duh. AND, I just found out that my sis and BIL voted today, for the first time ever i think, and voted for Ahnold. errr. Well, at least I took my kids to the polls and explained to them that he is the devil, etc. (well, okay, I didn't say it like that) but sheesh, this sucks. But, from all the Arnold commercials, etc my 6 y.o dd now does a hilarious impression of him. At least we can laugh at him....for now. ugh. very sad day...
good luck to us

You and how many others? So many good people - and/or wealthy people and businesses have already left, from what I understand. What worries me is Pornold's meglomania - but life won't let him go untouched for long - but who all is he going to hurt in the process? Just an
T note - California with millions of more population has MUCH less debt than Berlin!!
