i wrote in awhile back for support around speech delays. (which i got lots of by the way, thank you!) i just wanted to share that the speech therapy and the Early Start playgroup have been really helpful and my daughter (25 months olds now) is really starting to communicate a lot better. both receptive and expressive. the O.T. at Early Start also has been helping her with her walking and climbing and that has helped immensely. i can't believe my dd can walk upstairs and climb on the play structures now like the other kids in her playgroup. (and on the kitchen table..) my dd is so much more confident in her play because she can move better and rarely has meltdowns now that she can communicate better. i'm really glad that we got referred early and took advantage of the services offered. i'm hoping my experience might be helpful to someone reading who suspects their child might have a delay or who is in the early stages of getting assessed.
