Me, I gotta:

bake lots of goodies to take on holiday on Friday (sturdy, non-perishable stuff like sultana loaves)

make some more fabric Christmas gift bags

sand down and undercoat the shelf for the baby's room, the sewing machine table and the bobbin holder I was just given

post off the stuff I just sold online

pack stuff for me and the baby, for our holiday

plant pumpkins

plant sweetcorn

bake/cook some things for my darling husband to eat while I'm on holiday

clean up dead twigs from passionfruit vine around archway

defrost freezer in garage and turn off, to save power

My goodness! You are looking like one busy lady over there.

I love the idea of making Christmas gift anything! And I think making things for your husband while you'll be gone is very sweet.

I like this thread idea
I have to:
*Find DD a new ballet studio
*make a meal plan for the last 2 weeks of the month
*try not to panick over the ever looming economic depression that seems to inevitably be making its way closer, and just plan level headedly
*declutter, organize, and clean my room
*declutter, organize, and clean kids room
*my oldest foe...laundry (oh dirty socks, we meet again)
*start planning for the holidays...(again the impending economic doom seems to be making the thought of saving a few bucks here and a few bucks there for Christmas gifts kind of pointless, know what I'm sayin?)
*dye hair
*mail out thank you cards
*more things my brain cannot remember at 3:20 am
*GET SOME RELAX TIME

Making things for DH to eat while I'm gone is actually about 30% sweet and 70% 'If I don't he'll eat takeout all week and spend the money I was hoping to spend on holiday'. But thanks!

Right, I'd better get going. I was all enthused and ready to start this morning, but then the baby wanted to nurse for hours...

ETA (some hours later!): I've done the passionfruit vine, or as much as I can without taking an axe to it. I've planted my sweetcorn and pumpkins--a modest phrase which speaks nothing of the back-breaking compost hauling, weeding, blood-and-bone spreading, mulching and general angst that went into that process. I've sanded the bobbin holder and shelf, and put a rather dubious undercoat on 'em, but the horribly sweltering sun has prevented much progress in that department. And I turned off the freezer, discovering a steak and some frozen cooked mince as I did so, which just goes to show.

Now the baby's sleeping, so I'll try to get some sewing done. When she wakes up I'll trundle her to the shops, so as to send off my package and buy some flour for baking.

*yawns*

Okay, updated list, as there's some stuff I have to do today.

Today:

make homemade baked beans

bake rye bread

clean out chickens' cage

bath the baby

do mystery shopping job in town

buy parsley seedlings

beg coffee grounds from coffee shop

bake chocolate chip cookies

This week sometime:
* bake lots of goodies to take on holiday on Friday (sturdy, non-perishable stuff like sultana loaves)
* make some more fabric Christmas gift bags
* sand down and undercoat the shelf for the baby's room, the sewing machine table and the bobbin holder I was just given
* pack stuff for me and the baby, for our holiday
* bake/cook some things for my darling husband to eat while I'm on holiday

Bleugh. Exhaused post-hot-walk-in-sun relaxing update before I get onto doing more stuff:

* make homemade baked beans--beans are soaked and cooked, will baked beanify them shortly
* bake rye bread--left it to its second rising in an attractive round with two slashes, came home to find it mutated into a gargoyle; will reshape, I think
* clean out chickens' cage
* bath the baby
* do mystery shopping job in town--done, just have to write it up
* buy parsley seedlings--yus!
* beg coffee grounds from coffee shop--yus!
* bake chocolate chip cookies--yus!

I also had a surprisingly fruitful time in town running errands--got some groceries, bought material to make two dresses for the baby, panicked about sewing skills and bought three metres of bias binding in an effort to appear domestic, posted a competition form off that will win us $10,000, thanks very much, dropped some clothes off at the Salvation Army and met DH at work in time to walk him home. Feel smugly virtuous.

I did some work on another fabric gift bag this morning, too. (Heh... 'did some work'. It's amazing how the creation of a simple rectangular bag can span three sewing sessions under my creative fingers... although, to be fair, my sewing machine kept spazzing out on me).

...I'm talking to myself, aren't I.

ETA: Ooh, ooh, ooh. I forgot. I bought two Christmas presents online as well. That knocks my mother-in-law and my friend-who-always-buys-me-extravagant-presents-and-I-always-forget-to-reciprocate-come-major-holidays-and-feel-deeply-shamed off the list. Woot!

DS and DH are going out of town tomorrow until Sunday so I plan on getting a lot done when I am the only one in the house. Hopefully I will have some progress to post tomorrow night!

I made a lot of progress on my disaster of a closet last night... I pulled everything out and am in the process of getting rid of items and reorganizing. I didn't finish last night but should finish tonight when I get home from work. It's amazing what I can get done when I don't have a toddler trying to help me! I should get my desk done tonight too, as a lot of the items I can store in my new clean closet.

Well, we have to be out of the house in about an hour and a half (leaving for holiday), and I still need to pack:

--batting (Mum wants me to bring batting, I don't know!)
--toiletries
--most of my clothes
--the baking
--extra nappies for Rowan
--cellphone and charger
--bedding
--a book
--vitamins

I also gotta fill out a tax form and post it off. And I haven't done my hair yet, or eaten, or gotten the baby dressed. Righty...

I have a ton to do the next three-four weekends to get ready for the baby in November. DH is on duty Sunday as well as next Sunday so Ill be doing all of it pretty much by myself.

-Organize pantry
-Make food/shopping list
-freeze a bunch of meals
-clean out closets
-put together crib
-find/wash crib bedding- Done
-finish DD/new baby's room
- wash the box of clothes my grandparent-in-laws sent me-Done
-find a outfit I like for coming home-Done
- sew the rest of the nursing pads and the bag to store them in- Finished the nursing pads but not the bag
- convert about 20 prefolds into fitteds for DD- Im thinking its not going to happen anytime soon
- wash small diapers/covers- Done
-wash carriers- Done
-get everythign together for bag
-pack hospital bag
-pack bag for DD to go to baby sitter
-find and charge camera
- clean house
-sweep/mop

That should work for this weekend. With DH gone i suspect Ill get around 5-6 things done. Maybe if DD is willing to get off my lap for two minutes I might get more but since Im doing everything carrying around a 26 pound toddler I don't think much is getting done.

Update:

--write some more Suite articles--Done
--interview my next-door neighbor for magazine article
--make shopping list for husband to buy ingredients for friend's wedding cake
--ring said friend's wedding florist to make appointment to discuss cake topper--Done
--ring magazine editor about ideas for next-next-next issue--Done
--query other magazine editor about sleep article
--do Bible study homework, preferably not ten minutes before Bible study for once
--email the friend I've been forgetting to email for ages
--plant corn--Have done some, need to plant more
--ask Mum if we can borrow painting equipment again--Done
--cut the baby's fingernails before she scratches one of us to death!--Done but need to do again, they grow like fiends

I have done some other stuff too... just not much of the listed stuff.

Right. Tomorrow my sister and her friend are coming for dinner, so I need to make chocolate mousse (tonight) and cook naan bread, yellow rice with peas (is there a name for that?) and butter chicken. Ooh, and make yoghurt tonight. Which means using up the last of the old yoghurt. Which means making a mango smoothie for lunch. Yay! I can do that.

And another friend is coming in the afternoon, so I should make something nommable as well. And start another batch of bread. And ask said friend to bring back the clot nappies I lent her out of which her son has now grown, so that I can put 'em in storage with Rowan's other too-small baby clothes. And tonight I need to bath the dude. And I gotta feed the chickens and plant some buttercup pumpkin seeds... and email the wedding magazine editor about getting on with it (which is kinda ironic in light of this thread, but hey, I got bills to pay).
