I just came off b.c. last month and thought there was no way in heck that I would ovulate until another three months. I've always had very irregular cycles and after 2 years on b.c. I figured it would take forever to get back into the swing of things

So I've been charting using the pages in the back of TCOYF. But today I was inspired by all of you lovely ladies to start one online. Well, I did. It showed that I ovulated which is news to me! My temps hardly changed, but I guess they changed enough...

Please look at my chart in my sig and tell me how much of a chance you think I have of getting pregnant, having done the deed a day after the supposed "ovulation".

Your chart link isn't working for me. If you go to Fertility Friend, there's an option on the left side menu called 'sharing'. From there, click on 'email your chart' (I emailed mine to myself just to get the link) and let us know what your new link is.

I'm not really that experienced in reading charts but I just wanted to say that I got preg w/dd 2 weeks after going off the pill.

I friend of mine was told by a nurse that sometimes when women go off the pill they become more fertile in that first month. I don't know if it's true or not but my friend went off the pill that week and was also preg 2 weeks later...

cd17-18 there is definatly a temp shift and it does indeed show O. Along with your cm. You said that u bd the day after O? Did u bd at all within the 5 days before O? Since sperm can live up to 5 days. If so which days. You can make ur chart show ur bd by going to homepage setup and checking the box show intercourse(in case u didnt know)

cd=cycle day
O=ovulation day
bd=baby dance (sex)
cm=cervical mucus
Just in case u didnt know the abrv.

I was wondering what bd was....

Well, I can't exactly remember if we did it before . There is a chance, but my memory fails me. I know for a fact we did it the day after o.

I guess time will tell...

I had no idea the month after going off the pill could be more fertile. That would have been good to know!

Forgot to add that the egg can live up to 12-24 hours after O so there is a chance to get pg the day after O.

I got pregnant immediately after going off pills with my first, and after 3 months with my second. You can absolutely be fertile right away, usually the "wait three months" thing is to give you a better chance of knowing when you conceived, especially if your cycles tend to be wonky. As others have posted, if you had sex only after O, you are unlikely to become pregnant, there is a short window after ovulation during which the egg lives. Good luck with your ttc journey!

Actually, taking BC pills for 3 months and then stopping is a treatment for some types of infertility, because some women are WAY FERTILE that first month..its like, after being suppressed for a while, your ovaries are just DYING to eject thoose little eggies!! BD'ing the day after O is not the best way to get pg, but it might be possible..however, BD'ing the 3 days before is very good..and up to 5 days before is possible!

When should I test? Is it too soon? I am so nervous ladies...I can barely take it anymore. I just want to know!!!

I can tell that if I'm this impatient just waiting to find out if I'm pregnant, think about what I'll be like waiting 9 months for the little one to be born

I posted in another thread that I was getting slight cramping in my lower back. I hardly ever get cramps with pms, and if I do it's on the day it starts. My nipples are slightly sensitive (i've noticed in the shower especially and at night when I don't wear a bra) and I'm peeing like crazy-even when I don't drink anything.

But then I think that I'm making this all up. I just don't know what to believe......

Most women get a positve around 13-14 DPO. Some earlier, occasionally as early as 8-10 DPO, some later, as late as 18 DPO. If you don't want to waste money on tests, you should probably wait a few more days to test. Or go to the dollar store to buy tests. Good luck!

You guys are so sweet! Thanks for being so supportive

I was waiting for the EPTs I ordered over the internet, but if I don't get AF tonight, I am going out to the store and buying one so I can test tomorrow morning. That way if it's a BFP I can surprise hubby

I'll keep you all updated!
