I woke up last night around 11:30 p.m. with contractions. They weren't painful, but I could no longer sleep. I got up, drank water, walked around, took a shower. Around 1:30 a.m. I woke DH up and he got up. He putz around cleaning the house while I waited. I just sat in my chair and breathed through my contractions. At 4:00 a.m. we left for the hospital. I got hooked up to monitors and checked. I was at a 2. An hour later, I was still at 2 cm, but my cervix had effaced more and was much softer. We were given the option to stay or to go home. We talked to my doc and decided to go home so that I could labor at home.

Around 9 a.m. I laid down for a nap and slept for about an hour and a half. I woke up about an hour ago. My contrax have seriously started to fizzle. I'm so frustrated. DH keeps telling me that its my body recouperating and that it will start back up again.

I'm just frustrated. How can I have regular, painful contractions for 9-10 hours and then have them stop?!?!?!?!?! I'm darn sure that this is the real deal and that I've just stalled out because I'm still having contrax, they just aren't coming regular or strong anymore. I'm thinking of doing nipple stim to get things moving again. Thoughts?

This has happened to me twice in the past week now! Here I sit today on my "due" date still waiting for labor to get into full gear! I got past the frustration though with thoughts that it just wasn't my babe's time yet for some reason. Just be patient. Wanted you to know you're not alone!

The same thing happened to me this time around. I went to the hospital on a Thursday night thinking for sure I would end up staying. I was 3-4 cm and was still 3-4cm after being monitored for a few hours. I went home very tired and felt very odd for the next 24 hours. My water broke in the middle of the ngiht Saturday.

On that Saturday I did do ALL the things that can be done to get labor going. Chinese food, sex, walked around the mall, RRL tea, long soak in the tub. So I guess any or all of those helpers COULD have helped.

Good luck. Your body is doing it. Frustrating I know. Not too long now tho.

I'm drinking RRL tea and going for a walk in a bit. I've simply *decided* that this is it.

Here's to hoping that works.

And here's a little something for me:

Same here. 24 hrs of regular contractions and then it stopped. I'm still waiting for something to happen today. EPO, sex and nipple stim did nothing to my surprise. I think the only thing I can count on working is patience. The best thing to do when ctx slow down is take a nap. You never know when it's going to pick up again and you'll want to be rested.
