I have a wart on my hand. The weirdest things have happened to me healthwise since getting prego.<br><br>
I'm using Compound W. Before I went the way of that drug, I tried covering it with duct tape, which is supposed to work well, for several days. The wart doesn't seem to be disappearing. What's my next step? Removal at the doc office?

ive have heard that if yoi put a tiny piece of raw garlic ( only over the wart not on surrounding skin because it will burn you badly) and put a bandaid on to hold it there, it will burn the wart off.. a friend of mine was just visiting and told me she did this with great success except that she didnt know that it would burn her other skin and she had a blister and a scar from the garlic.. she said she read up on it later and it is supposed to only toutch the wart.. you could try it..

MamaFen,<br><br>
Thank you. I will try that tonight. You've also answered my other question. The white area seems to have grown larger, and I think the medicine is irritating the skin around the wart. Now it looks worse than it did early on. Thanks to you, I know the reason why!<br><br>

I used to have warts on my knees. They go away all by themselves with time; why not just leave it and see what happens?

are you sure it's a wart? I got lots of skin tags when I was pregnant. They went away shortly after my babies were born.

there's that new thing they have now to freeze it off. From Dr. Sholes, I think?

Yeah, I could leave it but it's on my hand. It would be easy to pass it on to my husband or other parts of my own body. If I had one on my foot or knee, it would be a lot easier to handle.<br><br>
And then the other day, I was playing with someone's baby. I def didn't want to pass it on to the baby, so I kept it covered with a bandaid.<br><br>

In case you're not already getting a response from it- buy some corn plasters- the ones with the hole in?. Put one around the wart, with the wart peeping through, then crush the garlic into the hole. It's a simple way of localising the garlic, and it works- my youngest has had a few warts, and the garlic got rid of them.

I tried the garlic last night...I placed a slice under a piece of duct tape...When I woke up, I saw a LOT of improvement. I'm going to do that again tonight.<br><br>

Wanted to chime in here-<br><br>
I used to have a LOT of warts on my right hand. No where else. They developed sometime after DC#3 was born. They spread FAST. I counted upwards of 50 at one time. Then I got PG with #4, and they all went away on their own, and haven't been back since! Sorry I don't have any advice for you on how to get rid of it. But now DC#3 has them all over his right hand now as well. I'm going to try the garlic on him and see how it goes.

My mom had a lot of warts on her hand as a child, and they used to rub a cut potatoe on the wart (and then bury it in the back yard <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eyesroll.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll"> ). Now I don't know about the burying part, but her warts did disappear. Now, my son has molloscum contagiosum (they are similar to warts). I said, what the heck, I'll give it a try. You know within two days they are almost gone. It's worth a try.<br><br>
Good Luck!

We have successfully used duct tape on warts - but it took much longer than a couple of days. I think the average time was about 3 wks, older daughter had one on her thumb & younger daughter on her heel. We would occassionally forget a day here and there but it seems like it took at least that long. I also second the skin tag possiblility - I have found 3 new one since the beginning of this pg. Good Luck

Duct tape didn't work for me.<br><br>
What worked was the garlic!! I just looked at it a moment ago and noticed that the wart is GONE -- after just one night with a clove taped to my palm.<br><br>
I used the duct tape for weeks and still had the wart.<br><br>
WOO HOO I am happy to have this thinigie disappear.<br><br>

someone told me that warts were caused by too much yeast in the system. Which would explain why garlic works so well. It is the only thing that helps when I get yeast infections.<br><br>
I am glad it worked for you.<br>
