IT really looks knit in the round but how do you get the leg holes???

I have been doing the punk knitters one and I am not liking the seam right there in the front where the leg holes start.

No, it's not. You graft in between the leg holes.

So at the top or in the crotch....maybe I just suck at seaming it together.
Well, yes and no... It is knit in the round until you split for the leg holes and then the two flaps are grafted, basically just like the punk baby pattern frpm what I can tell. Are you using the kitchener stitch to graft? Maybe you need a good visual of the grafting technique to help you out? Knittinghelp.com has a video on this page. HTH!

I've just knitted two soakers using the WHW pattern, and it doesn't have any grafting. You use a provisional cast-on, knit the crotch back and forth along with stitches that then form the legs when you join in the round. The you knit in the round up to the top. Short rows are a little more difficult this way, and I've already made a lot of personal modifications to the original pattern, but its a great one if you want to avoid seaming/grafting. Very trim too! This was my first "real" knitting project and it turned out very well

If you are using kitchener stitch, you might like this little piece on it from techniques with theresa at knitty.com. She says to leave your stitches really loose for a few stitches, then snug them up to get smoother results:

My seams aren't perfect either though. I'm hoping practice will help!

THANK YOU!!!! That was so helpful. I had a knitting book that showed how but I am such a visual person I really need to see someone do it. I was doing it so wrong before.
