I have been having a ton of fun the last two weeks making diapers. I think I've had a little too much fun, because I have gone way overboard! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
I <i>already</i> had a full diaper stash and I've made 17 with snaps plus about 6 with Aplix (and I have another 10 to make with Aplix!) <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment"> Does everyone get this addicted?<br><br>
Ok, I'll share the pics now. I'm really lucky to have a SIL who is a WAHM (Jeanne at <a href="http://hyenacart.com/TheCoveredCaboose/" target="_blank">The Covered Caboose</a>) and she let me use her snap press. Let me just tell you that she is <b><i>much</i></b> better than me at getting snaps in a straight line! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br><a href="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7da06b3127cce832aeae5a48f00000016108QZuXDFm0ag" target="_blank">TaDa! 1</a><br><br><a href="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7da06b3127cce832aeaeda48700000016108QZuXDFm0ag" target="_blank">TaDa! 2</a><br><br><a href="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7da06b3127cce832aead6258c00000016108QZuXDFm0ag" target="_blank">TaDa! 3</a><br><a href="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7da06b3127cce832aead5a4bf00000016108QZuXDFm0ag" target="_blank"><br>

I'm very happy with them. The only thing that I would do differently is to make sure I add the snaps before the diaper is finished. As they are the flat side of the snap touches baby's tummy. I don't think he notices it a bit, but I would prefer it the other way.

Thanks! No real pattern, I just pieced together bits of knowledge from the free patterns online. I had to make a couple of others first (which I used old tshirts and sheets for) to get the fit right. I didn't want to make a half dozen assembly-line style only to find they didn't fit properly.<br><br>
They are pocket fitteds. I used flannel (bought at JoAnn's when it was on sale in March) for some and a cotton homespun I found at The Evil Empire (a.k.a. Wal*Mart) on clearance for $2/yard. The inners are microfleece.

Does that mean there is no waterproof layer? Please let me know how they are in use. My little guy is so sensitive that I can't use anything really waterproof on him but a pocket without a PUl type layer would be great.

There is no waterproof layer. We use wool covers. I think if you stuffed it enough, particularly in front for a boy, you could make any fitted diaper work if you stayed on top of it and changed often.<br><br>
Does fleece affect him?

<div style="font-style:italic;">We never tried fleece. I currently use just standard prefolds.</div>

Do you cover them with anything? How old is he?<br><br>
We use nice soft wool covers. I wonder if he would be sensitive to that since it is a natural fiber?

He does well in wool but he's 2.5 years old and yanks them off. Right now they are only occasionally covered.

Cuuute! You chose great snap colors to go with the different prints. I really like the contrasty ones (orange on green, etc.).<br><br>
I think the flat side of the snap against the baby is preferable, actually. Not because it's against the baby, but I find that snaps have a tendency to pull out if they're just through the outer layer of a diaper. You did good! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">
