Okay I am offically devistated.

I have been comparing and looking all day online for the best price for prefolds and I have found so many good deals.

The problem: they all charge huge amounts to ship to Canada thus making the deals none.

This totally sucks it kind of makes me not want to CD after all I'm just having such a hard time finding deals and finding stuff that fits in our budget and doesn't cost huge amounts.

I will still CD obviously but it's just upsetting.

Then that the local stores charge HUGE amounts also and have such limited selection.....

i think there are a bunch of online canadian stores that sell prefolds - there is a link around here somewhere...
I think www.jamtots.com is in canada
yep, jamtots and babymarketplace too I believe.
Also justbehinds.com and parentingbynature.com are located in Canada
Yes, it would probably be better to buy them from a Canadian store so you don't have to worry about the US conversion and many will offer you free or very cheap shipping in Canada. Seems like a better deal than buying cheap pfs from an American site and having to convert to CAD and pay massive shipping.
Thanks for all of the replys everyone and all of the links.

After checking out all of the Canadian stores that you linked the US online ones are still cheaper even with the high shipping.

I have actually found 2 great deals I think and now I just have to decide between the two.

one is 3 dozen Indian Unbleached Premium for 76.20US this includes the FREE shipping to Canada YAY!

The other is Chinese Prefold premium 3 dozen for 70.88 with shipping.

So now it's a matter of choosing between Chinese or Indian.

With the current exchange being so good, almost at par, they really don't cost that much more when converted to CDN.

Do these seem like a good deal??

Which should I go with?

Just wanted to chime in here that I have Canadian WAHM friends that do insist it actually costs them more to ship within Canada then outside it. So there is that to consider.

I am sorry for your plight though. As a WAHM that sold her diaper biz I actually charged my Candian and US customers the exact same amount. I do not know why so many stores think it costs more to ship to Canada cause after 3 years I found that it rarely ever cost more.
you should still consider buying canadian. I can 95% guarantee that you'll be charged taxes and a handling fee from revenue canada for buyingnew stuff from the US.

if you're okay with slightly used diapers, check out the trading post here. I just got a dozen prefolds for 21 USD including shipping, plus since they are used and low value they will likely not get hit by customs etc.
or jamtots has free shipping over $80 cdn or something like that and if you live outside of BC you'll not be charged PST, only gst.
What about ebay? I found a diaper store when I bought mine and they said they shipped to Canada. HTH
www.extraordinarybabyshoppe.com is Canadian and is run by a GREAT MDC Mama. Shipping is $7.50 I think (at least so it says on the website) I got all my prefolds from her but bought them at the bricks and mortar store. She has retail stores in both Ottawa and Kitchener.

There are some bricks and mortar diaper stores in Toronto too if you're near there, but Suzy at Extraordinary should be able to set you up very nicely.

(and you will totally be dinged at customs if you order a lot of stuff and have it shipped over the border. Recently I was dinged $10 for $20 worth of fabric that wasn't even a retail purchase. If they decide to open your package, you're totally toast! Duty adds up REALLY fast.)
nak i saw on www.babymarketplace.com there is free shippinng over $40...

3 dozen dipes would cost 90 canadian though.

I would go with the chinese. cheaper per prefold.
If you do get that duty charge that would stink and make it not worth the wait.
www.cottontailbaby.com & www.tinybirdsorganics.com both have reasonable shipping costs to Canada. www.diaperco.com does too, I think (I haven't ordered from there in quite awhile)
Well I called Canada Customs to see if there would be duty on the diapers and they told me that there would be NO DUTY on the diapers just GST.

Sooooo I think I might just go with the online US store.

I REALLY want the IPF's and they seem to be harder to find here for some reason.

I did find them on www.justbehinds.com and I might go with them instead of the US store, it's slightly cheaper and would ship from Canada so it wouldn't take as long.

Does anyone know of any other Canadian stores that carry the IPF's exccept the ones that have already been mentioned??
just behinds and jamtots do have fairly good deals on packages. You could watch for a coop but they are never quick.
