For the last few days I have been feeling like a tummy bug is brewing. I'd feel hungry, eat, then feel icky and have to avoid puking for a few hours later. This has been going on for days now. It just dawned on me, I'm having morning sickness!
:
Only with morning sickness am I starving, but food makes me sick. I had the easiest first trimester ever this time and I guess I got cocky about it. I hope it goes away soon and that everyone else is feeling good.

I heard of morning sickness starting in the second trimester, but never actually known anyone who it's happened to. So sorry!!

No, no, no
This is not the start of morning sickness. It is a fluke and should be gone in a day or so.

Right?

(I had terrible morning sickness for nine whole months last time, and I'm trying to think positive here).

Oh yuck! I hope whatever it is, it's gone quick!
sleep!!!! That happened to me the other day, (I was sick the whole 9 months last time too, all the way into the delivery room and afterwards!), and only sick on-and-off this time, but I've noticed that if I just sleep it gets soooo much better....(easier said than done when you have a 9 month old who is anti-sleep!) I just had my hubby take a day off last week when it happened, I slept the whole day, and have been tons better since!
I had morning sickness start in my 2nd trimester (didn't have any morning sickness with my 1st). I was feeling nauseous 24/7 and hated it. I went to the homeopath and got a remedy and have been fine since. About once a week it starts to creep up on me now and I just take my remedy and I'm fine in about 15 mins.

I read that morning sickness is often caused by the liver's inability to keep up with cleansing out the extra hormones in pregnancy. This is why people often get it in the first trimester and it goes away in the 2nd (hormones are usually dropping then). You could just be at the point in your pregnancy where your hormones are highest and your liver is having trouble keeping up with it. Sadly though, I couldn't find any herbs that were recommended for liver strengthening during pregnancy.
Which is why I ended up at the homeopath.

I hope you feel better soon and I'll cross my fingers that this is just a stomach bug you have!

I'm taking dandelion root and milk thistle, which are supposed to be liver cleansing. I'm not taking it for my horrible morning sickness though (and it's not working anyway), but to prevent a return of PUPPPs rash that I got after my last pregnancy, which some people think may be related to liver issues as well.

Any special brand you are taking Krista? In Canada, all the dandelion root and milk thistle bottles say specifically on them "not to be taken during pregnancy". It might just be some requirement here to stay on the extra cautious side, but it ended up making me paranoid!

I definitely think it's just a warning they put on everything. My midwife is totally fine with me taking them (and flax oil as well). I'm taking the dandelion root & flax oil every day, the milk thistle every other day. The brand is Oregon's Wild Harvest and they're organic.

that sure does suck, I hope it goes away in a few days
