I know this is crazy...I'm laughing at this post as I write it, but I really would appreciate some advice from fellow thong-wearers.

In the past week or so I've begun to wonder what I'm going to do for my PP flow. I haven't worn anything other than a thong for years, but I'm guessing I'll have to for lochia. Anyone else a thong wearer with advice? I'll be using cloth pads.

I'd get a pack of grannie panties for that pp bleeding. They're not cute, but nothing really is right after you give birth

Not to mention I wouldn't want anything being all up in that area if you know what I mean.

Me! I broke down and bought some big ole panties just for pp. I bought some really thin and silky ones so I wouldn't feel like they were driving me crazy and I only wore them as long as I had too!

I hated the thought of having to wear pads and normal undies, but at that point I really didnt care, after about weeks one I was able to wear thongs again with panty liners (the thong shaped ones) Just buy a pack of undies to be your pp ones, then you can chuck them out or hold onto them for the next time

I'm'a get boyshorts or bikini for that. I cant manage shoving a thong up there along with three pads, soreness, and god knows, hemorrhoids?

I whave and will wear string bikini undies pp. They are comfy yet not huge.
They work well. Make sure they are cotton though the cotten pads tends to slide on silky undies.

Thong wearer here...but with dd I actually enjoyed the feeling of the 'mesh' panties they gave me in the hospital...hmmm...gotta go find those.

The first 2 days pp I wore those mesh panties with a DIAPER filled with ICE! Hahahahah....but this is going ot be a home birth for me so I think I won't need as much ICE!

I don't plan on pushing for 3 hrs and swelling up etc!

I've even considered 'depends' briefs!

oh, the ice idea is a great plan! My doula had some great suggestions for PP care - one of them was freezing a diaper or something like that and another one was to soak your pads in witch hazel if I recall correctly. I will definately have to ask her about that to refresh my memory because both suggestions were fabulous!

oooh yes- soak a pad with witch hazel and pop it in the freezer. It's like heaven on sore bits.
