Have your labor cx been bad or mild as well? Do you normally have menstrual cramps?

I do not ever have menstrual cramps and my labor cx (last baby at least, 1st one was on pit.) were not bad at all, even at 8cm. I never had any BH with my last 2 pregnancies and this time I've BARELY felt what might be a few. But they are hardly noticeable. Just wondering if those with mild/ no BH tend to have milder labor cx??? If its a uterus kind of thing. lol Am I making ANY sense at all? lol

I understand what you are getting at.

With my first, the first contractions I felt were at the onset of labor- I did not notice any BH. My labor was very managable. With my second, I was bothered by BH and pre-labor contractions the week I was due. He was a hard, fast birth.

I also rarely have menstrual cramps.

I think it does factor into how your brain interprets the signals from your uterus. Rather, I think how your brain interprets the signals results in whether you find BH bothersome, experience painful cramps, and experience labor contractions as pain/pressure/contractions of muscle.

I don't think that there is a correlation. I had dysmennoreah almost all my life, pretty severe, actually - treated it with 16 years on birth control pill and a lot of ibuprofen. In spite of the pill, I was sick for 3 weeks out almost every month. Had a laparoscopy to check for endometriosis (none). Anyway, I felt no BH with first pregnancy, maybe a few with second, none this time (or maybe I've just convinced myself that it's baby moving, but who knows).

DD1 (37w): I had a rapid onset of labor, about 20 hours after my water broke - fast and furious and very painful. Baby born 6 hours later. The monitor said I was having contractions before the ones I felt, but I didn't feel anything, not even cramping.

DD2 (42w5d): Rapid onset of painful labor - back labor - so much fun. Water broke within hour of birth, and baby turned. Baby was born about 8 hours after the first cramping but about 4 hours after the hard painful labor started.

Since my first baby, I rarely have had any menstrual cramping. My periods actually became tolerable! Period resumed about 15 months after each baby. My pregnancies have been 4-5 years apart. I'm extremely in tune with my uterus now (maybe that comes with age). I knew within a week that I was pregnant this time (not intentional). But I don't feel BH the way that others describe them. I anticipate labor to be short and painful again!
