Are there any natural remedies that are available for the treatment of mom with a thrush infection that was passed from baby to mom?<br><br>
Are they safe with breastfeeding and safe with a baby on nystatin oral swabs for his trush?<br><br>
Does anyone have any research or sites I can look up?<br><br>

We have it and are using extra good hygiene and also unsweetened plain yogurt, room temp on my nips (wash before nursing) and in her mouth, and also everywhere else we seem yeasty. We do this several times a day. You can microwave your bras if they don't have underwire. You can also hang them out in the bright sun. Also, let your nips air out as much as possible. Hubby oughta love that!

MY 8 month old had thrush a couple months back. He was put on nystatin but it didn't help any. I used gentain violet (sp?) That worked within 2 days. Not sure if you want to use it or not but it helped for us.

This worked for me too. I was in to much pain to wait for yogurt or other remedies.<br><br>
I did try Grapefruit Seed Extract. It is great on fungus (used on a toenail too). I would recommend a pro-biotic too.<br><br>
Also vinegar in the wash can help kill fungus on bras a diapers (thrush often will be on a baby's bottom too.)

I used gentian violet - it stained everyhing, nipples and baby a blue purple colour - but it did help. I would also recommend staying dry and getting all of the air on your breasts that you can. i think a little sun helped me as well.
