I'm finally buying an organic pull on soaker from Tiny Tush and now I don't know what to do about the sizing

DS is 13.5mo and weighs about 22lbs BUT, he's a squirt

He's still wearing his medium KPs on the smallest snaps and pretty much all of his fitteds and other wool (except his Tykie wool). So, do I get the medium or the large?? Will the medium have room to grow, or will I be needing a new nighttime soaker in a month??
