Hi all,

My sister's 3 month old baby's liver spontaneously ruptured. Long story short, we were very lucky--she is doing well now, and now has shunts from gall bladder and stomach to external bag to drain the bile and allow the liver to heal. Hopefully this will be temporary, but is still a big adjustment.

They will be going home from the hospital tomorrow, and I'm looking for resources/tips on caring for the girly--e.g., what kinds of clothing works best, is it okay to do tummy time with the bag? how to bath baby? any good chat/support sites for this?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Those are all questions you should ask at the hospital before discharge.

Hope everything goes well.

Check out the special needs board here on MDC and you'll find some help
