Volunteer work.

I'm not kidding. It works on lots of levels. It pulls you out of that mood that makes you feel like "I'm good for nothing" and gives you a reason to get up and get out of the house. Plus you get to talk to other people without having to pretend you feel happy.

If you pick the right kind of volunteer work the kids can even come along.

At our office, it is often recommended for women to take a B-50 or B-100 complex twice a day. Also a calcium supplement, and a omega fatty acid supplement. We also recommend morning sunshine exposure and a minimum of 20 minutes of aerobic exercise a day. There is evidence that only morning sunshine raise seratonin levels, as does exercise. Combining these two would seem to be a double whammy. Or I guess having an am walk and then somethine more at night might stabilize levels a little? I don't know, I guess whatever you can do!

I would try these things for a month, and see how you feel. If it doesn't help, perhaps some blood work is in order (a thyroid panel, a complete blood count, and a fasting blood sugar, plus maybe a complete metabolic panel).

I hope this has been helpful!

I actually just read that banans are great for depression. This
is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
There are lots of other benefits from bananas for PMS, stress, nerves, brain power, seasonal depression, blood pressure, and more!
"a BANANA a day keeps the doctor away!"

Exercise helps me...I ride my bike or go to the gym. Also, Motherwort is my favorite nervine herb. You can take drops of the tincture as much as you want, it's perfectly safe when you're pg or bf or ttc....I love it.
