where I've been LURKING for a little over a year now.

In the beginning I was reading up and doing a lot of research, and then on and off while life got super, super busy. I'm not a Mom, was not even trying to conceive yet-just reading all the wonderful liberating news on this site.----> WELL, now I'm ready! DH and I are ready to start trying to conceive!

I live in a mostly, but not entirely, foggy neighborhood in San Francisco. My garden is but a pipe dream. I've spent a year preparing for that as well, so maybe the two will take off at the same time.

It's funny how nature times things: We've just decided we are ready to start trying. I've always been highly intuitive, and I make a lot of life decisions based on that. Right it now just seems like "that," is what the little voice inside me that knows God is telling me, "it's time." Frankly, it doesn't make perfect sense in terms of some things, but it makes good enough sense, and it feels right. So, here I am-Here we are. I said "it's funny how nature times things," because about the time that we are coming to the decision that we want to start trying, we are also coming to the conclusion that we might already be!
:p

Anyhow, I thought I'd come out of the shadow's now that we are officially in the "trying" bracket. I'm hoping DH will get interested and get a username too. We read some birth stories together last night, and we were so touched we both laughed and cried. I'm hoping he'll get sucked into the forum, and sucked into researching the medical realities of pregnancy/childbirth as well. I don't like the weight of doing it all alone, I'd like to have him bring some of the "crunchy"
ideas to the table.

So, that's it my intro. Thanks for all your great stories and shared wisdoms, and to the people who put MDC together for this inspiring and empowering site.

Thank you all for your warm replies. I read everyone's bio who replied and a lot of links too. Some pretty amazing writing and stories... I have to say I find them impressing and powerful and touching. I learned a lot. It was neat. My biggest chuckle
was makes "breastmilk bread." Touching and thought provoking was the story of boys who are very much boys. And in terms of liberating and awe inspiring was photo of baby ten minutes after unassisted breech birth. WOW!!!! I told my husband about that, and his response cracked me up. "Wow!!!!" he says, stunned. And then very business-like, "Does she live around here?"

Thanks for the words of welcome
