OK, so I love love love my wonderoos. But they are just too small for my 3yo ds who is skinny, anyway! they fit, but just barely. So I bought a bunch of pockets from a momma here on the TP, she says they didn't repell for her but did wick and needed to be rewaterproofed. Well, I Got the nikwax, and applied it very very carefully! I've been hesitant to use several of those pockets, but since the nikwax, I've been trying to use them the past week. Well, by now i've had it! Ds at least once a day says, "Mommy, I peed!" b/c it's running down his leg!! rrrr..... So I tested them out today to check for repelling and two were REALLY bad, I think I'm just going to throw those away. The other 5 or so were ok, one or two being fine. So I did the dishsoap thing and rubbed them all really really well, then soaked them in oxyclean for at least 6 hrs. I tested them again, and not much change!! GRRRR....!!! I DON'T want to deal w/ this anymore! I think I'm just going to have to go back to CPFs and an almost-too-small cover. My brain is so tired of thinking about diapers. I've been dealing w/ using Tide now (that's what MIL has) and new water, washing routine, etc. I'm going to buy some sposies in the morning b/c I just hate my cloth right now! I just don't even want to think about it anymore....ugh.... Well, I'm sure I won't b/c it's Christmas eve, and I just can't bare to spent $15 on two packs of dipes I'll throw away when I could buy a new, pretty dipe or cover and resell it!!!

ANYWAY, this was supposed to be asking for help w/ repelling fleece, a totally redundant topic here, I'm sorry! But I feel like I've tried everything. There aren't bubbles in the rinse either, I've been checking regularly. It might be over stuffing (which I just read about tonight...), but there's just one premium CPF trifolded in a Large pocket. Now, I could understand w/ his nite time HUGE diaper! That explains a few things for me...

Anyway, Thanks....

I stopped using pockets for this reason, to much maintainance. Problems with fleece, problems with wicking cotton prints, problems with pul breaking down. They are not cheap and I was sick of the problems. So, I switched to fitted's and have been so much happier. At first I was drawn to fitteds with fleece, not anymore. I figure that I should be changing ds when he's wet, so why do I need a stay dry barrier? I want him to know when he's wet. Even out and about I will put a silk liner in there, but no more fleece (unless I need to use a cream). I should not have to re-waterproof my diapers, and that spray is expensive. I was having to use it every second or third wash. Plain fitteds (velour lined for softness), pf's, wool covers and throw in some wool liners for added protection when out on the town...the perfect system.

I can't help with pocket info b/c we rarely use pockets. Although a wonderoos fits my 5yo 37lb (petite!) bedwetter w/ a premium PF inside. I bought it new and only tried it a couple times on the baby and so its still virtually new and works great for us. I wdn't know how to fix a pocket that doesn't work.

We're definitely a fitteds and PFs kind of family. At home he's almost always coverless.

Sorry you're having a tough time. Theres some great deals on the TP if you can find your child's size. Or post an in-search-of.

Good luck.

I've never had problems with pockets not wicking. At one point Nitara was in pocket dipes full time. I use Tide. I swear by Tide. No build up ever, and very few stains. Try a soak in Tide and see if that works.

I'm sorry that you got a bad deal on the tp. I hate it when that happens :

I wish I had some insight to offer you on the fleece. I love pockets and have really never had problems with the fleec repelling. I'm sure some of the other more experienced mamas on this board and chime in and help with suggestions.

switching systems is definitely not an options right now. But I almost bought a few new covers for James last night! Lily is way way way too wiggly for anything more than one step. Whenever I have to do the cpf and cover deal, I about lose my mind! Anyway, I really hope someone gives me some new suggestions. Darshani, I don't think the tide would help any since that's what I'm already using. Maybe turing up the heater and soaking/rinsing. I'm NOT going to do that at the ILs right now. Errr....I hate being in this predicament!

virg, that's an intersting idea! Thanks, I'll have to remember that. We are officially in sposies till we get to my parents' in TX in about 10 days. And there, I get to deal w/ super super super hard water, so we'll see how that goes. I might be investing in new covers! just so I don't ruin my precious wonderoos! I've always done sposies on and off, so it's ok. Don't love em, don't entirely hate em. DH bought me the HUGE packs of expensive ones that I would never ever buy myself. (I'm just thinking of all the fluff I could buy for that right now....) Guess my pride's just taking a beating b/c I've been on this all cloth kick for several months now, and I've just been so proud of myself! Anyway, I just can't deal w/ stripping dipes during Christmas and we have even more family coming next week. It's going to be nuts here! Ok, so I'm rambling! what's new. Just thought I'd share! WHEN I have my fleece working well again, I'll be posting here w/ lots of smilies!!! Can't wait.

Well, Merry Christmas! I need to go to bed. Playing Santa is hard work!!
