Just so all you mamas of one or two babes know--the more kids you have the more curve balls they throw at you

DS is just shy of 4 months and is exclusively breastfed (okay, other than gripe water
)
he has always had pretty much liquid poop that smells, to be honest, like yogurt.

He doesn't get any of the curdled milk stuff that the other kids got.

I know I have over supply issues, but have taken steps to help that (block nursing, taking him off during let-down, etc.)

I try to remember to take probiotics...but even when I do, it doesn't make a difference in his poop.

He is gaining weight in leaps and bounds and doesn't seem to have any other issues (other than a nightly 8pm yelling session--who needs a clock when you have kids?)

Well, he does what we call 'leak' poop pretty much all the time. We tend to just keep a prefold under him during the day, and any time you check it, there wil always be a spot of poop, kwim?

anyhow--any thoughts?

The main reason I'm concerned is because we already have ds2 who has way too many food sensitivities. The house is currently dairy, soy, and corn free.
Could this be from another food?
Is it anything I would need to be concerned about?

Normal.

Orange/Yellow/sunset coloured..all variation of normal.

If there's stringy snot like goop, and if it's green then you worry...

Liquid in = Liquid out

we had this for almost 2 weeks...what do you worry about? Our dr. was unconcerned...I was concerned but nothing I did seemed to help (in terms of diet), it just finally cleared up.

I guess I just want them all to have the same poop. No variation

We have such food issues in the family--nothing would suprise me.
I'm hoping this guy will escape the food sensitivity nightmare....

Usually a foremilk/hindmilk Imballance...

Overactive letdown seems to be the culprit..or just not letting babe get the hindmilk he/she needs....

OK, dumb question... how do you distinguish mucousy stool from general soupiness? DD's stools are not really green (orange-brown w/ curds), but they have seemed extra snotty the last two days. Anything to worry about? No fever, she's been gaining weightvery well, and I'm block feeding (3 hours each side or so).

Thanks! I'm trying not to be a totally paranoid new mommy, but... well, I think that's a losing game. Nice to have these boards for relief!
