What is on yours??

This was mentioned a little bit in the chat thread and I thought it deserved its own thread.

This is a place to post your to-do list so that you have someplace to mark things off and hold yourself accountable. (I love marking things off lists)

I totally understand that. I moved in my last pregnancy at 36 weeks. It was a nightmare.

I'm trying not to take on too much this time...last time I really stressed myself out trying to clean and well, the baby arrived and it didn't much matter that the top of the fridge was dusty and the baseboards needed to be painted.

This time:

-Finish school (several papers to write/math final in person)
-Organize DD's 2nd Birthday party (plan cake/straighten up/wrap presents)
-Christmas cards as well (waiting for Sears to call with word portraits are in)
-Finish dog run outside (this is much-needed this time, so the dogs have somewhere to go during the day other than the kitchen)
-Buy SIL/BIL/nephews gifts

-Christmas (it's at our house so we don't need to travel but will involve some extensive cleaning)

-Clean up/out bedroom and set up second sidecarred crib or co-sleeper
-Deep clean bathrooms (est. twice before birth, plus light weekly)
-Move bookshelf into DD's room so we have room for the Christmas tree
-Deep clean car/install second carseat
-Assemble new pack n' play
-Unpack breast pump/order a few new parts, tubing, etc.
-Pen a transfer plan, JIC.

I've been scrapbooking too, Mandie! Instead of studying. Of course I should be doing other things but until 36+ weeks I need to take it easy. I'm trying to catch up on DD's gaps in her first year/this year. I have so much fun with it, it's hard to pull myself away.

Pretty much we're all squared away for the birth. Supplies, MW taken care of, etc. I need to unpack my flannel sheets as it has been cooler and I need to have several washed sets on hand ready to go. Diapers and baby clothes are all washed and ready to go.

I deep cleaned the laundry room a few days ago - it was really bothering me. After my last birth everyone wanted to help with laundry (thankful!) but the room itself was a mess. Not this time!

***ETA:

I'm getting there! Today I'm planning on finishing up cleaning the girls' room, putting up more of DD's clothes and assembling the carseat. I'm feeling pretty good about "cleaning"...

I made a list the other day, but haven't really started tackling it yet. Ive been putting it off until I'm done work - only 1.5 weeks to go! Although, I will be 37 weeks at that point, and my son was born at 37 weeks, so I'm a bit nervous in case this baby makes an early appearance too.

- wash all baby stuff - clothes, moby wrap, blankets, etc.
- sew nursing pads
-would LOVE to squeeze a few more scrapbook pages in there so dd's book is done before baby arrives. This is probably too ambitious unless I go closer to 39 or 40 weeks instead of my usual 37-38.

I feel overwhelmed looking at that list but I am actually very relieved that I crossed a few huge things off to help with the amount of work left: no homebirth to prepare for this time (planned hospital birth), we canceled Christmas Day at our house. We are going to my grandparents' instead of hosting dinner for 20+ here, and I decided to have dd's party catered, even if that means just getting party subs or whatever.

Okay, now that I've typed my list up, it looks short, but almost every item is a major undertaking. In no particular order, I need to:

unpack, inspect, and clean breast pump, order some new parts

set up cosleeper

wash and organize baby things

buy and install dishwasher

finish unpacking from our move 6 months ago

organize and clean the house

tame the tropical jungle that is my yard

sew about 20 more diapers

finish up my 2 classes -- a final project, and one last assignment

at work, wrap up projects that need to be done before I leave

meet with DS's teachers and therapists to get a plan of action for his behavior problems at home

implement said plan

finish hypnobabies course and practice every day

Fortunately, my mom and dad are arriving next week to help me get things done before baby comes. I feel a little pathetic that I can't get my life organized without them, but so, so grateful they're willing to help.

I am all about lists. We've accomplished some big things like some outdoor projects; cleaning out, painting, and arranging the office to be a baby room (well, she may never sleep there, but it is where her stuff goes); got our septic tank pumped in preparation for the extra laundry from washing cloth diapers; bought a breast pump and glider chair; will be touring potential child care center tomorrow; and I think we've officially picked a doctor for the baby.

Now to do:

Write and print birth plan. Have a basic bworking plan already in my chart with the midwife. They fax updated copies to the hospital birth center so no matter what they have it on hand.

Purchase and prep more prefolds and covers for newborn stage (I have 18 old GMD smalls) and OS pockets to grow into. Later on I will save up for the medium sized prefolds and covers. I need to post what I have on the diapering forum so I can hear if I am going to be covered...

Buy diapering accessories (sprayer, trash can for hamper, wet bags)

Wash and organize baby clothes -by size

Get some baskets to organize baby things like diapering, bathing, etc. Will go into our nifty Ikea cube shelf that doubles as the changing table

Do paperwork to switch to Dh's health insurance (still waiting on DH's company to put out said paperwork...policy changes Jan 1 and they still haven't given him the info!). Then I can cancel mine at work and get extra money in my paycheck.

Baby shower this Sunday- then take stock of what I have, still need, and take care of anything I want/need to return or exchange.

Stock freezer and pantry for postpartum. Also toilet paper and such.

Purchase some comfy postpartum lounge clothes and supplies for postpartum care (I've been told witch hazel pads, stuff for sitz baths, pads, etc.

Pack my bag. Probably closer to the end of the month. Put note inside of things to be added last minute.

If there is any money left (ha!) I would like to buy some wall hangings for the baby's room from Maple Shade Kids etsy shop. I've been eying some of her stuff for a while and also want to do a custom peg board with ladybugs. It is my coworker's niece's business and rather local so I'd like to support her if I do get to buy artwork. **Got a gift certificate at my shower!

Whew.

Me too! except buy matress and sofa instead of washer and dryer.

I'm moving on Saturday, and that is all I need to think about right now...

Once I move in I know I want to make a wee quilt for the baby, do a bit of shopping, etc...but all of that can wait when my holidays/mat leave begins...in EIGHT days!

Then I will go down to my new neighborhood's POOL and make my lists while Benjamin plays and I kick back with a pitcher of Virgin Mango Margaritas.

The end seems so close and yet so FAR!
