So... due dates are 5/26 (acc to cycle), 5/31 (acc to ultrasounds). I had 12 hours of "labor" Sat night through Sun early morning... and baby is posterior.

It's not that I'm *so* terribly anxious to have baby make grand appearance... (babies are so much easier in than out!! but of course I'm really excited to meet this little person) but here's the thing. My mother is coming on Saturday evening (she lives very far away), and I'd really rather not have her around for the birth. I mean, at all in the vicinity. Also, I must be back at work on July 1. Really non-negotiable - - so the longer this babe takes to come out, the less time I'll have to bond and nurse full-time with him/her! (The other lame reason is having a May baby - for some reason I've always wanted one... which is why I have 2 June babies and an April. LOL )

I'm thinking of having my midwife strip my membranes. The thing is, with my first, they did that and it was a long and drawn out (painful) labor. Because this baby is posterior, I think I'm probably in for a long haul anyway... but it may make it worse!

I'd make my mother cancel her trip, and wait. I wouldn't intervene unless there were a medical reason, or I hit 42 weeks.

Quick! Make an appointment for something you really don't want to miss. Babies love to come and mess up those plans. And lots of walking. I would suggest stairs. Just lumber and down them slowly and let baby jostle around and let gravity do the work.
For me, when I was faced with having to start doing NSTs for being "overdue" I suddenly had a baby. I made the NST appointment on Monday (for Thursday) and really really really didn't want to go. I labored all throughout Tuesday but stayed active and chased toddlers around a park on a hill all day. I had her first thing Wednesday morning. Tell that baby you don't want your mother to be there first. I think you and baby can work it out

DDC crashing.

Get to the chiropractor and see if you can get that baby to spin around. If you are experiencing labor, but the babe is posterior, it can be on and off for a while...the chiro could work it out and make things get going as they should.

Thanks for your replies.

I can't have my mom cancel her trip - besides the fact that she'd be totally offended, there'd be a penalty on her ticket, and she can't afford it.

I did just take a nice long walk in the heat... it felt like I had one big BH the whole time I was walking, but now that I'm sitting down - nada.

I've never been to a chiropractor wouldn't even know how to go about doing that... my midwife has been telling me to get on my hands and knees and stuff. I'll work more on that today!
