My DH came home yesterday and informed me that I am now only allowed to check the bank account balance, NOT view detailed transactions. Which means he bought me a Christmas present, and I would be able to identify the present based on the amount and the store.

He THEN said "That website you showed me over the weekend is knitpicks, isn't it?" Followed by "those needles you pointed out, would you even use them? They're sizes 0-3..."

This, from the man who cannot remember what color socks he's currently wearing (and sock color is dictated by his uniform!!!) and calls knitting "sewing."

3 guesses what he got me for Christmas...and now the question...do I check the transactions, and figure out which set he got me, or do I wait 3 weeks????

You're supposed to tell me to peek, so I can blame it on you!!! :

LOL my husband is the same way. I tell him every year to take the money out at the atm first. There is no way I can not look over transactions. Everyday I make sure there are no suspicious transactions.

I checked the balance just now, and clicked on the link to view detailed transactions...then clicked on the MDC tab.

So it's up...on my computer...hiding behind MDC.

I'm gonna close the tab. I'm such a little kid!!!

No peeking!!

I went shopping with my DH yesterday and pointed out the iPods, saying that I "really liked" the purple one, and it would "make a great gift for one's spouse".

Okay, I just went and bought a bunch of clothes online to give our DD for Christmas. I think that got it out of my system.

You are SOOOO naughty! LOL! My husband knows that he has to withdraw cash to buy anything - and we've been married less than a year!

My husband and I decided to forgo individual gifts, and instead got a family gift - a digital camera that I have been using to take pictures of everything. (well, almost - no naughty bits or anything)

However, we agreed we are still doing stocking stuffers for one another. As I'm making my list of possible choices of small items (under $5 each, like Fruities, tiny Whitman samplers, stitch holders-a gal can never have too many! pocket tissues, etc), he starts listing off $20 items. (Belt, pitchpipe, glass and metal thermos, etc) Boys!

How would I even get a thermos into his stocking?! :

OH, the temptation! But, knowing that it was probably something knitting related would be enough for me. I would still want to be really excited on Christmas morning.

If you knit one, it'll probably fit. I have this stocking that my grandma made me. She made one for each of us. I don't have it in front of me, so I cant recall whether it's knit or crochet, but it looks like a normal largish stocking, until you start to stuff it. Then it is like the never-ending stocking. The thing will stretch to hold anything. My mom always lamented them, because they were so dang hard to fill up. My sis and I loved them! They were always so full of loot!

Get a bigger stocking!

I found a HUGE stocking at the Dollar Tree yesterday and held it up for my DH to see, saying that "Here's MY stocking!"

Actually, I prefer the little wee tiny stockings for my personal gifts...you can get some really nice and EXPENSIVE stuff in those.

Yeah- my stocking is about four foot long, and it really doesn't give the impression that diamonds should be lurking at the bottom. I need to do something about that, but my aunt made it for me when I was tiny and I'm attached to it.

EVERYONE should have the kind of stockings that could hold fancy jewellery. Not that you have to, you understand- but the capability should be there.

Wait! Don't you want him to be successful in his subterfuge? Don't you want him to do this again and again??!

Lucky you. :

I peek... every year... I don't like surprises.... one year I peeked saw where he got the gift (jewelry store) then went to his hiding spot (the same every year) and saw that it was the same (exactly!) necklace that he had bought me the xmas before... I got around it by saying "oh honey I can't find my three stone diamond necklace, you know the one you got me last year... have you seen it?" We exchanged the new one together and had a good laugh about it. That was the second time he had bought me the same gift. Both times he just said "well it really looks like something you would like"

funny dh, he means well. But I think is stumped for ideas this year as I have put the brakes on jewelry (really I am a SAHM I don't have anyplace to wear it and it will just get spit up on, maybe someday) I have hinted at yarn but he thinks I have too much already. Not me :

I give my dh detailed instructions on what he is to get me, otherwise he just flails around and gets me something random that I may or may not use.

One year he bought me a table top zen rock garden. We had a cat at the time. Cat poo is not zen.

I wouldn't peek.

I'm always horribly tempted, but I won't. He'd be so disappointed if it weren't a surprise.

So I tried to get some more feelers out of him.

I commented that he was right, I probably wouldn't get as much use out of the double pointed needles I originally pointed out to him as I would out of the "Options" set.

He said "The options set...that's the metal one on the far left with the interchangeable needles, isn't it? I thought you said you wanted wood."

:

OMG which set did he get me!?!?!?!?!?
