Ok, I just have to post this here because none of my friends EVER let their non potty learning children run around the house diaperless for any amount of time. I just took DSs diaper off to let him have about 15 mintues of naked time. Of course 2 minutes after the diaper came off he peed on the hardwood floor. I looked over and saw it and I jump up to avoid him playing in it / slipping in it. He thought he was in trouble (not really sure why), jumped up and ran off, looking a little scared. I just smiled and said "It's ok, it't just a little peepee on the floor. Your not in trouble. It's ok!" smiling the whole time. I walked off to get a towl and he started jabbering pointing twords the pee puddle. I then asked him "where is the peepee?" So he walked closer and pointed at it. I then said "Thank you for showing me where it is!" He seemed pleased as punch and so proud that he had communicated where exactly the pee was so I could clean it up.

What a cutie! When dd pees on the floor she has yet to notice. I was just reading that that is one of the signs of readiness for potty learning...

When dd pees on the floor, she points to it, rocks back and forth from leg to leg and says "uh oh, pee pee, mama, uh oh" It's the cutest thing

Well, DS has always been aware of when he pees. Since he was about a year old (when he started walking) he would stop, look down, grab the front of his diaper, then start walking again. He had to pee. But yes, he is very aware when he pees. Even when he pees on the carpet, he backs away and looks at it/tries to poke it, etc. I definitly wouldn't mind him starting to potty learn, less diapers with a 2nd on the way, but I just don't see it happening, maybe by the time he is 2. I don't really know what to look for, I just figured once he was ready for potty learning... I would just know. LOL

DD was about 26 months and wearing "underwear pants" (it's ALWAYS both words when she says it) for one of the first times. She was standing on a chair at the table while I did dishes. She started to cry a little and called "Mommy, I spilled!". I looked around the table to see what had been knocked over, then finally noticed the little puddle of pee at her feet.

We're still in the beginnings of the potty-learning stage, but fortunately haven't had many more 'spills'!

That's funny! My ds2 is also very aware of when he has to pee and always has been. I've been letting him go diaperless a lot lately since it's been so hot. He'll grab his penis watch himself pee on the floor and then look at me and point at it and say "Uh oh!" ROFL! I bought him a Peter Potty since he likes to pretend to pee in the big potty w/ his big brother, but he hasn't actually peed in it yet. I'm noteven going to hope he'll potty train early. My first didn't until he was almost 3.
